02/03/2026: A truly wonderful experience! This trattoria is one of those places that makes you feel right at home: a welcoming atmosphere, a family atmosphere, and an attention to detail that's evident as soon as you enter. The staff is incredibly kind, always smiling and attentive, but a special mention goes to the owner: incredibly kind and helpful, capable of welcoming every guest with genuine warmth and making everyone feel truly welcome.
The cuisine is simply exceptional, with authentic flavors and generous portions. Each course showcases tradition, but with a pleasantly surprising twist. Everything was perfect, accompanied by excellent wines expertly recommended.
It's one of those places you'll want to return to and recommend without hesitation to friends and family. My compliments to the entire staff; we'll definitely be back!
21/02/2026: If you're passing through Manciano, definitely stop at Trattoria Il Rifugio! The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, and you'll immediately feel at home. The risotto is simply amazing, and the pappardelle with wild boar are spectacular, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The cod is delicious.
The welcome was top-notch, Ilaria was incredibly kind and attentive.
The dessert.....exquisite!
A place to definitely return to! 🍷✨

16/02/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant on the road while leaving Saturnia. It looks like a country house. We stopped in and were greeted, even without a reservation, with warmth and professionalism. The location is truly meticulously maintained, from the fireplace and stove to the furnishings and table setting. The cheese platter with three very unique sauces was truly remarkable. The bruschetta with lard and unsalted bread was generous and delicious. We continued with two wild boar-based first courses: a truly delicate tortello and excellent pici. The tiramisu for dessert was also delicious. Congratulations.

02/11/2025: A lovely trattoria to eat at.
The food was really good: delicious pappardelle, fantastic wild boar ragout, delicious crostini, mind-blowing pappa al pomodoro, very good appetizers. The beans tasted like they came from a can (a shame) but were delicious. The chicory was flavorful, and the Vin Santo was extremely alcoholic. I don't know, it just didn't convince me.
I wasn't crazy about the cantucci either, but that's a matter of personal preference.
The coffee, bread, water, and excellent olive oil were delicious.
I found the bread refill during service really pleasant.

07/12/2025: This time it went badly. It's a shame, because we were at the same place in September 2024 and were shocked that in a place that looked very "tourist-friendly," we'd actually eaten well. Today, it was very different. We ordered two appetizers: crostini, three tagliata (sliced steaks), and a pappardelle with wild boar. The crostini were cold slices of bread topped with a questionable pâté, passable tomatoes, and an inedible agliata. The pappardelle were cold, as was the tagliata, served on a salad taken from the bag with oversized tomato slices. Everything was presented without the slightest care; it felt like it was hastily prepared, put on paper plates and brought to the table. It's a shame, because for this price, you'd expect much more.

04/01/2025: Volevamo fare solo uno snack ci siamo trovati di fronte a tanta scortesia e un costo salatissimo, senza prima averci chiesto cosa mettere nel tagliere nonostante avessimo segnalato che avevamo esigenze alimentari particolari e senza che ci fosse stato detto il prezzo peraltro molto alto, solo il fatto di essere in ferie mi ha convinto a non litigare e lasciar perdere, veramente da evitare
17/09/2024: 2 bicchieri di vino, indicati sul menu a 4 euro l uno. Serviti con patatine da sacchetto e un piattino con 4 fette di pane e prosciutto. Pagato 17 euro.
Cioè 9 euro extra per un piattino non richiesto che penseresti essere di accompagnamento invece fatto.abbondandemente pagare a parte. A mai più, per la scorrettezza !

15/05/2025: Bellissimo ristorante con pochi tavoli elegantemente apparecchiati, consiglio la prenotazione.
L’ambiente è accogliente e il titolare molto gentile e davvero competente, pietanze raffinate e ingredienti di qualità.
Abbiamo ordinato antipasto toscano con affettati/formaggi e crostini con lardo di colonnata al tartufo, tutto veramente buono.
Primi piatti con pasta fresca “pici” ottimi e i dolci ricercati. Anche il vino della casa molto buono.
Ci torneremo.
08/05/2025: Ristorante di qualità ambiente confortevole e raffinato 20posti unico locale. Servizio eccellente portate abbondanti e impiattamento ben fatto. Molto ben preparati PER CELIACI con buon ASSORTIMENTO. Prezzo 30-40€ per me alto ma nella media Toscana

24/04/2025: Se vuoi mangiare bene,tipico, genuino e a un prezzo onesto, non puoi non andare in questo ristorante!!!!lo stra consiglio!cibo ottimo!!il personale è fantastico accogliente e sono tutti ma dico tutti, sorridenti e gentili!irradiano gioia anche ai loro clienti!! abbiamo preso un tagliere salumi e formaggi, i pici all'aglione,i gnocchi al ragù bianco e olive, crostata ricotta e visciole, e una alla marmellata di fichi, 1/2 l di vino della casa ( buonissimo!)era tutto veramente tutto squisito!!torneremo!!
22/04/2025: Ci hanno servito piatti di carne veramente tenera e cotta al punto giusto , accompagnata da ottime verdure alla griglia, che abbiamo condito con olio di loro produzione molto apprezzato. Buoni gli gnocchi preparati al momento conditi con burro e salvia. Abbiamo sentito il locale permeato di cordialità spontanea che ci ha fatti sentire come a casa. Giusto il prezzo è buono il vino della casa che ci hanno consigliato.

12/05/2025: Un bar molto grazioso dove si può mangiare e bere in tranquillità. Ci si può sedere al sole o all’ombra e godere la bellezza del borgo di Montemerano.
Gestione famigliare molto attenta e cortese.

Titolari tanto carini e preparati. Mentre visiti il cuore Del Medioevo dalla colazione al gelato fresco… agli apertivi con etichette del territorio e le bruschette maremmane!
Sicuramente un punto di riferimento !
