23/11/2025: Very cozy place, which was a bookstore turned cocktail bar where the bookstore's furnishings are still intact. Pleasant music is played, which you can chat with. The cocktails are very delicious. The staff is very nice and attentive.

The cured meats are also excellent, freshly sliced and served. The warm and pleasant atmosphere makes the place even more welcoming. Highly recommended!

22/03/2026: It's a real shame, because the place has a lovely atmosphere and is very well-kept.
I went there for an aperitivo with a friend, but basically the only redeeming feature was the juice (that's why I didn't give it a star).
When we asked if we could split a gourmet aperitivo, we were told it wasn't possible, as the portions weren't divisible... A questionable response in hindsight.
The price didn't match the quality of the products we received. In fact, we had to return several dishes due to questionable edibility. For this reason, we were given a €2 discount per person. It was negligible compared to the asking price.
My stomach felt the effects until the next day.
16/03/2026: Poor-quality gourmet aperitif with products evidently reheated in the microwave. The taste and texture were terrible. We tasted and left most of the dishes. The waitress, very kindly, expressed regret and offered to discuss the matter "to improve the service." When paying, they gave us a €2 discount per person. I would have avoided this review if they hadn't charged us for both aperitifs (or at least one).
Otherwise, the place is cute, welcoming, and excellent for simpler aperitifs.

03/12/2025: Nice atmosphere and good pastries, but overpriced and unwelcoming. Every time you order something, the cover charge goes up by 50 cents. Two of us ordered two things, and we paid 4x the cover charge. Pure madness.

30/04/2026: We arrived at 2:20 PM and were greeted with great hospitality, which is certainly not a given: that alone deserves praise.
A truly elegant location, with a splendid seafront view that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly throughout the lunch.
The food? Without a doubt, high quality, with fresh ingredients and well-executed dishes.
If I really had to find a "quote" (more out of honesty than actual criticism):
- I missed the peppery mussels... because a peppery mussel should be peppery, not just a "cozzata" 😉;
- on the tiramisu, however, the cocoa was a bit too much, slightly overpowering the other flavors.
Aside from that, nothing much to say: the quality of the food was truly superb and the overall experience was absolutely positive.
I would definitely go back. 👍

18/12/2025: A landmark for the town of Massafra and beyond... open 24 hours a day, every day except Tuesday, which is the day of rest.
You can enjoy a good coffee at any time of day, accompanied by a pastry, cake, or croissant... in short, there's no shortage of choice. The drinks list is very good, with a variety of beers and spirits, and you can also grab a savory snack.
The place is perfect for business meetings or small parties, thanks to its spacious mezzanine equipped with private areas.
You can also sit on the outdoor veranda or, during the summer months, on the large, well-equipped sidewalk.
Donato is always available and ready to satisfy everyone's needs.

17/03/2026: La Baita di Monteparano is one of those places you discover almost by chance and then become a regular.
I've been there several times, and each time I've had the same feeling: tranquility, care, and quality. The place is clean, tidy, and well-kept, but what's truly striking is the exterior. The landscape is meticulously maintained, with these splendid centuries-old ornamental olive trees pruned with ball-shaped foliage, giving the place a unique elegance, almost relaxing just looking at them.
It's the classic place where you sit and feel comfortable, unhurried. Perfect for both breakfast with friends and a late-afternoon aperitif. The desserts are beautiful to look at and, above all, delicious, and overall the food is truly delicious: you can sense the attention and quality in what's served.
It's located on the road connecting Monteparano to San Giorgio Ionico, making it very convenient to get to. It's one of those places worth stopping in for a while, not just passing through.
It's not just a bar; it's a small, well-kept corner where you can enjoy a well-deserved break. Very, very nice. Highly recommended.
16/01/2026: Comfortable place both in winter and summer, the only flaw is the owner always at the cash register with a hat, he doesn't smile, he doesn't greet, he seems embalmed.
