05/08/2025: We went for dinner; the location is certainly very charming, but it wasn't balanced by the food. They served us eggplant parmigiana that was dry and burned, a lentil soup that was neither praise nor infamy, and barbecued red sea bream that was served cold. Special mention should be made of the rudeness of the sommelier, who, when we asked for protection from the wind, offered a blanket. Definitely not up to expectations.
31/07/2025: We have dined at EEA every year for the past few years. It never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious and the setting is beautiful. Thank you again for our waitress (Rajuvita? We know whe have this wrong, but we hope she knows who she is. Lovely Indian woman), who has always been super professional and an absolute delight. We look forward to returning next year.

A very quaint and historic bar located in the heart of Gaeta. Service was quick and efficient despite the large number of customers, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Try their famous giant cappuccinos with cocoa and their delicious, sweet and indulgent sour cherry tarts, the best in the city!
10/08/2025: Excellent bar in the center of Gaeta's old town, near the port. Delicious shortbread and excellent coffee. Outdoor seating is available for a quick snack.

Too bad about the bad experience with the meat, unfortunately it went a bit too far in conservation...
It's not the first time that it happens to me in different places, I've always eaten meat and I know it well.
It's not a question of aging or particular flavor of foreign meats, but rather of poorly preserved meat.
Strong smell also felt at the next table, the diners at the table turn around and confirm that their meat (different cut) had the same smell and flavor.
Obviously, as every time I kindly point it out, we are told that it is the type of meat... basically, the same story everywhere...
more cuts of different types had the taste and smell of rotten meat... but oh well, maybe I'm crazy...
To be precise, we are talking about the Brazilian cut that was supposed to be accompanied by Palmito... of which not even a shadow...
Bread missing...
Too bad because the fillet with truffle and the parmigiana are worth it, ruining yourself like this is a shame
In the meantime, I'm walking around Gaeta at midnight looking for an open pizzeria after a day of fasting...

04/07/2025: Veramente un bel posto con terrazza panoramica e venticello rinfrescante. Ottimi piatti serviti con professionalità e cordialità dalle ragazze. Per sfuggire dal caldo e dalla caos della zona porto.Si trova in alto ma raggiungibile tranquillamente con una passeggiata dentro il paese. Consigliato.

27/07/2025: After years we returned to eat some dishes, a first course that was good, I had the fried food 🙄 well this one that was supposed to be piping hot arrived lukewarm and obviously not enough.. Even though I was still hungry I didn't feel like ordering anything else because we were sitting outside in the entrance passage, that wasn't the worst thing but it was the owner and I think his wife who were smoking near us and always had a glass of wine in their hand... I strongly recommend letting the staff have access by passing calmly without having to move aside every time.. Ugly to see

14/08/2025: I recently stopped at Caffè Italia in Formia, craving something more intriguing than a simple espresso. I must say I was immediately struck by the ambiance: an airy, well-maintained space with a lovely outdoor area, perfect for relaxing with friends, morning or evening.
I ordered a cocktail and was pleasantly surprised by the selection: the menu offers a decidedly wide selection of cocktails and aperitifs, including various spritzes, classic long drinks, gin and tonics, mojitos, caipirinhas, margaritas, and much more. Prices are average for the area—roughly between €1 and €10.
The cocktail I chose was well-balanced, carefully prepared, and served in a suitable glass, with an immediately striking presentation. Overall, the service was courteous and professional—at least for me.
Regarding the price, my drink seemed in line with the quality offered: it's not cheap, but overall it reflected what you'd expect from a cocktail made with select ingredients in a pleasant setting.
In short, for me, Caffè Italia remains an excellent choice for an aperitivo or evening drink: the atmosphere is inviting, the selection of drinks is extensive and well-curated, and the staff overall contributed to a pleasant experience. My only advice is to avoid the busiest hours if you want to enjoy your cocktail at a leisurely pace.
