20/08/2025: During our stay in Rocca di Cambio, we dined at Ristorante Il Caminetto, nestled in the Sirente-Velino Regional Natural Park, and were thrilled.
As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who escorted us to our table in the lower room: a rustic, warm, and familiar atmosphere where you immediately feel at home.
The cuisine is typical of Abruzzo, and you can taste it from the first bite: the mixed antipasto of local cured meats and cheeses was a great start, with authentic and well-balanced flavors.
The pork shank was the true star of the dinner: incredibly tender, it pulled apart on its own, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
All accompanied by an excellent house wine.
The other menu items, all well-designed, also showcase local tradition using quality ingredients.
The portions are generous, the quality/price ratio excellent, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
At the end of the meal, in addition to the classic sweets and liqueurs, the restaurant also offers an original and traditional twist: sweets dipped in artisanal liqueurs. We tried the licorice and aniseed ones—an original and delightful way to end the evening.
A tip: if you visit in the summer, book well in advance to eat on the terrace.
Without a doubt, Il Caminetto is the best restaurant in Rocca di Cambio—and perhaps in the entire area.

29/06/2025: Locale carino ma non ho apprezzatto affatto, per essere gentile, che i proprietari non siano intervenuti per allontanare un cliente, evidentemente ubriaco, che insultava i passanti con atteggiamenti aggressivi e discriminatori e inneggiava al fascismo, ai "forni" crematori.
Scene davvero pesanti e disdicevoli accolte con una risata bonaria dal proprietario, evidentemente amico del suddetto personaggio.

28/08/2025: Good morning, I was at this restaurant on August 15th. My 3-star rating is a balance between the exceptional welcome I received and the quality of the food served. Let's start by saying that everything in the area was full, and I stumbled upon this place by chance. Even though everything was full, the staff welcomed me really well and went out of their way to find me a seat. So far, so good. We received the menu and placed our order. We waited a long time for lunch (but that's understandable, it was really too busy). We chose an appetizer, 3 first courses, a bottle of water, and a grappa. The quality could really be improved. The price was a bit too high (total €62). They also made sandwiches, which looked more inviting. Maybe next time I'm in the area, I'll try that. The first courses weren't very good, let's put it that way. The politeness and welcome were still there, which were truly wonderful.
23/08/2025: A truly spectacular restaurant, especially for me, who loves the cool of the mountain air. The Christmassy decor is spectacular, especially for me, who loves Christmas. Good food.

18/08/2025: We reached the refuge by chairlift. After a walk, we stopped at the refuge and, even without a reservation, were welcomed. Excellent food. Good value. Restrooms are available. Very kind manager.
16/08/2025: Terrible service, we sat down at 1:45 PM and ate about an hour later... the food wasn't bad, but we found a worm in the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms (they offered us skewers to fix it)... we won't be back!

08/08/2025: The food is excellent. Pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and truffles is superb, and the breaded pecorino cheese is a specialty. The atmosphere and service are exceptional.
29/07/2025: August 8th, the place was half full. You have to call them or they won't stop. But once we called, they arrived right away and served us quickly. They were very kind and courteous, and the service was fast. The fettuccine was delicious.
Update: Unfortunately, I went back last summer and the pasta was cold and overcooked. The staff is always very kind, courteous, and attentive, but unfortunately, the pasta wasn't up to par.

27/08/2023: Come immaginavo mi ci ero fermata per un aperitivo, in moto e ho notato subito una atmosfera gentile casalinga e familiare stavolta ho voluto andarci.a pranzo e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti il tagliere giusto per due fettuccine alla.aquilana buone e gustose, ho preso le trofie allo zafferano zucchine e pancetta croccante molto delicate e gustose il.dolce e il.caffe con una spesa accettabile LO STRACONSIGLIO A TUTTI
