We've been vacationing in Kastelruth every year for the past four years, and we haven't been able to try any other restaurants because the Alte Schmiede blows us away every single time. Amazing food and superb service. It doesn't get any better. LEVEL GOTT

We stopped by for a quick dinner. The food was excellent; we ordered dumplings and a burger, and the beef was also very good. The potato wedges were perfectly cooked. The staff was quick and knowledgeable. Excellent choice.

A fairly touristy restaurant. The service is quick, but the waiters aren't very friendly; we felt like we were bothering them. Nothing special, not great Italian cuisine, we won't be back.

For this type of restaurant the level of service was unusually high. The food is well made, and if you visit in summer/autumn they have a few items with fresh chanterelles. Being a mushroom fan I had to try both the chanterelle pizza and pasta on separate visits.

We came for lunch on a whim and were given a table outside. The service was friendly. The pizza was decent and the frittata soup was very good. Card payment accepted.

Gasthof Weisses Rossl

01/06/2026: Centrally located on the market square, we were able to get a table outside at short notice in the evening – the service was very attentive! Friendly and efficient service, good selection of dishes, very good food – there's nothing to complain about. Highly recommended!
29/05/2026: The White Horse Inn is located right next to the construction site in Kaltern. The venerable old building has a lot of character. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

23/07/2026: The meat dishes are very good, the desserts a little less so, but overall it's a good place!
16/07/2026: A lovely coffee shop with wonderful, cheerful staff. I ordered a cappuccino, which was great, and the coffee tasted amazing. I especially want to thank Mr. Roman and Mrs. Salvatore for their kind spirit and excellent service.
