Great place, very quaint, and the quality of the ingredients is evident. Despite being a delicatessen, they also offer interesting vegetarian options: I had two tortelli, one with lemon and ginger and the other with cherry. Everything was homemade, and everything was delicious.

During a short vacation in Parma, I had the opportunity to try this delicatessen (known thanks to the "4 Ristoranti" program) with its in-house kitchen, where you can enjoy quality products and carefully prepared dishes. Special thanks to the owner, who is extremely friendly, kind, and always ready to make customers feel at home. A place I'll definitely return to!

Fontanellato is a village worth a visit. La Xalumeria is the perfect place to eat. Good food, friendly staff, and a simple, functional location. Highly recommended.

I find this place a bit unwelcoming.
It's certainly not a delicatessen and can't claim to be a restaurant. The ingredients are certainly high-quality, the cuisine authentic, but I didn't find any outstanding flavors (for my tastes).
Fresh handmade pasta,
good pork, good pancetta and prosciutto.
The lady serving and the owner are very kind and always ready to answer questions and needs.
Less than a stone's throw from the Castle and the Sanctuary.
Fair/honest price.
I wouldn't go back.

Lunch break en route to Bologna, and it was wonderful! From the charcuterie board with torta fritta (the beetroot one was out of this world), the highlight of the day, "Giovanna's Spalla," with its smokiness enhanced by giardiniera (fresh pickled vegetables), and especially the anolini. An explosion of flavor that is irresistible for those who love Parmesan.
A special conclusion with a sampling of desserts: sbrisolona and zabaglione, and a tartlet with lemon cream and almond flakes.
Coffee from the moka pot, just like at home, and leaving is certainly a bit of a drag, but with a happy belly, the journey will certainly be quicker.
