We went for lunch without a reservation: the place was full, but they quickly found a table for us.
Typical Sardinian and Roman cuisine: being Sardinian, we wanted to try Roman cuisine and were very satisfied.
We ordered a classic carbonara and a cacio e pepe, oxtail stew, and Roman-style artichokes. The portions were generous and full of traditional flavors.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was convivial.
A gastronomic experience I would recommend to everyone.

This restaurant overlooks the Colosseum and I discovered it by chance while walking around looking for dinner.
A wonderful discovery...
I enjoyed excellent food and a great bottle of wine. What can I say? I'd recommend it.
I'll definitely be back soon.

Great service, they had room for 6 people plus a stroller. I've been back for a second time; my last visit was about three years ago. The pizza has improved, and the pasta is fantastic. It's a 7/10 Roman restaurant – every smartass with a TikTok account knows where to find the best restaurants in Rome, but if you don't feel like crossing the river and want to eat near the Colosseum, I recommend this little Sardinian restaurant ;)
Oh, and the chocolate cake was delicious. Unfortunately, the tiramisu was the worst, a 5/10.
P.S. It's a large place inside.

Excellent food, some of the best I've had in Rome. Ox tail stew was particularly good. It seemed pretty much all pasta dishes could be prepared gluten free. It's been pretty easy finding gluten free options in the city but of all the places we've found I think Volare has been the best

The pasta and lasagna were delicious, the staff very friendly, and the atmosphere peaceful.
However, the Caesar salad was a good size but had very little chicken and bread.
Overall, a very good restaurant.

Highly recommended. The €18 set menu includes a pasta dish, tiramisu, and a drink. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent value for money. Thank you.

Located across from the Colosseum, we were passing by and the very friendly waitress invited us to look at the menu. We ordered carbonara and Sardinian pasta with ricotta and spinach; both dishes were delicious.
