We were truly happy with the quality of the food, the fast and friendly service, and the welcoming and warm environment. Servers were also very nice to our small daughter, very appreciated! We had first and second dishes, therefore I cannot comment on the pizza. We certainly appreciated the wide range of choices.

We had another wonderful evening here - whether it's high season, low season or holidays - a family-run grotto/pizzeria/risotante that we simply love in every season!

This isn't my first time at the Crotto, and I've always had a good experience. Good service, the food is more than decent, and the prices are reasonable. Excellent for a quick business lunch; I can't comment on the evening service. I'll be back.

Very nice and spacious place, with friendly and attentive staff. The menu is varied, and there's both a restaurant and a pizzeria. We tried the pizzas and loved them. The dough is thin and easy to digest, and the prices are fair, especially considering the area.

The peaceful rustic location nestled off the beaten path reveals a splendid, beautifully shaded, natural setting and most importantly, a genuinely delightful dining gem in Porlezza. The kind service is warm, welcoming and friendly, the freshly prepared entrees are fabulously flavorful and plated enticingly in a comfortably cozy, yet sophisticated dining venue. Overall a completely enjoyable and memorable Italian experience, unconditionally recommended!

03/12/2025: The cuisine (only fish) is spectacular. It would definitely deserve recognition (a star, a fork, etc.) There's no menu or wine list. Everything is explained (very well) by the owner. This, however, leaves you with no idea what you're going to spend... Unfortunately (a very sore point for which I can't give it 5 stars) the atmosphere is decidedly poor. It feels like an old restaurant stuck in the 1960s. For the quality of the food and the chef's imagination, it's still an experience worth repeating again and again.
02/11/2025: I went for dinner, a table of six. The staff were kind and patient. The dishes were superb, satisfying all the senses. The food was excellent. The place is timeless, but for me, it's an added bonus. The atmosphere is relaxing and very pleasant. The tables are well-spaced, allowing you to enjoy the convivial atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. Recommended!
