We went last weekend, on a Saturday for lunch. The place is cute and welcoming, even outside, and the staff is friendly. The menu isn't terribly extensive, but it features a wide variety of Roman specialties. Delicious dishes that are all worth mentioning... appetizer: eggless Roman frittata, friggitelli stuffed with a sort of guinea fowl mousse, a chicory sautéed with garlic and chili pepper that's absolutely unparalleled! Let's move on to the first courses... delicious spaghetti amatriciana, fettuccine with chicken and guinea fowl ragù, and fantastic rigatoni alla paiata! The second course wasn't great, but the ricotta and sour cherry tart was delicious. I find the price extremely fair for the quality of the place and the food (with coffee and no wine, €109 for three), especially for us "Bolognese" people who, in recent years, have seen places that, to say the least, are poor (!) charge us bills worthy of "Gualtiero Marchesi." This is highly recommended, and reservations are best. Parking in the area is possible, but with patience... Great experience!

Authentic Roman cuisine, crafted and brought into the new century: meticulous attention to the selection and preparation of raw ingredients, an excellent wine list, and meticulous preparation by everyone.
Do yourself a favor and save room for one of their excellent homemade desserts!

The pasta all'amatriciana was delicious! Truly unique and memorable. The best pasta I've had in Rome. I also really enjoyed the tiramisu. If you have the chance, stop by!

I went with my father. We had rigatoni alla pajata, a half portion of tagliatelle with white ragù, tripe, veal breast alla fornara, and a bottle of water. Traditional Roman cuisine, simple and basic... €70. I hate to give it three stars; the food perhaps deserves four, but in Rome, it's not difficult to eat just as well (and perhaps even better) for much less. The price of lunch, without wine, is completely unjustified. One question: with a whole portion of pasta and two glasses of red, did they spend €100 in a Roman trattoria?!

We had lunch at this small but welcoming osteria, a renowned local restaurant. The food was very good but a bit overpriced. The gratin onions with goat cheese, the sautéed chicory, the fettuccine with white ragù, and the beef brisket with potatoes were all delicious. All this was accompanied by an excellent glass of Sangiovese each. The desserts (tiramisu and sour cherry and ricotta tart) were good but not exceptional.
Overall, we considered it a positive experience.

We made our way outside of the city center just for Trecca and the food did not disappoint. The service, however, was not at all what we were expecting — at best, confusing, and at worst, rude. It seemed like our server didn’t understand much English, which is no problem, we get it - we’re tourists venturing into the local neighborhoods. However, what was strange was that one server definitely spoke fluent English, and he didn’t serve us. Instead, our server Google translated the daily specials on his phone and flashed the translation to my mother-in-law for no more than 10 seconds. She could only glean “bean soup” and “pasta”, with no more detail. The server walked away without showing the translation to my partner and myself, leaving us all a bit baffled. We travel often and often travel for food, wanting to find the places that are the most authentic and with the best food and experience. This interaction, though only one part of our experience, certainly left the impression that we weren’t wholly welcome.
