Good cuisine with local products, reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants in the area.
The raw meat is excellent. Avoid the butter and sage plin, however, as they have only a hint of seasoning, resulting in dry and stringy pasta.
The desserts are decent, but nothing special.
The service is courteous and friendly.

Excellent trattoria nestled in the hills of Monforte. Generous portions and very reasonable prices for both quality and quantity (the tajarìn with ragù was only €10). The food was all excellent and beautifully presented. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially one of the waitresses who was particularly approachable and made us feel at home. It's the perfect place for a quiet Sunday lunch with friends. Highly recommended!

We were there in mid-September, midweek.
It's a good thing we called and booked a table before leaving Dogliani, because the restaurant was packed (with both tourists and locals!).
We had lunch (pranzo): The antipasti were fantastic – all of them, including the delicate zucchini flowers, the Japanese squid, and the meaty ones. The pasta and tajarin were delicious, especially the one with black truffles. The desserts were also to die for.
The wine list was extensive, especially the local wines.
And finally: the waiters were very friendly.

We ate here in October 2024. A simple, no-frills trattoria located a few kilometers from Barolo, yet elegant nonetheless. The staff were extremely friendly, and the head waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. Naturally, we sampled traditional Piedmontese dishes. Everything was impeccable, from the presentation to the ingredients, and considering how much we ate, I'd say we spent a fair amount: just over €30 per person for three appetizers, three first courses, three desserts, two bottles of water, and a glass of Barolo. Among the appetizers, the pumpkin flan with cheese fondue and the zucchini flowers stuffed with raschera cheese were excellent. Among the first courses, the raviolini del plin with butter and sage and the tagierin with braised meat ragù were outstanding. Among the second courses, the veal cheek braised in Barolo stood out...it melts in your mouth. For dessert, the bunet and hazelnut cake were excellent. We had a great time, highly recommended.

I went for dinner with my boyfriend. We sat at an outside table and had a lovely meal; the food was good and the service excellent. The atmosphere was quiet and very pleasant.
I'm a vegetarian, and the restaurant had no problems with it, and I ate very well.

One of the last bastions of "old-school" dining in the area.
A very positive experience in a trattoria offering authentic Piedmontese dishes, served in a rustic yet meticulously maintained setting.
Quick and friendly service, well-executed dishes: the tartare and tajarin deserve a special mention.
Fair bill, convenient parking, and the option of dining al fresco: highly recommended!

A great discovery thanks to some Italian friends. Good Piedmontese cuisine, the wine list is very good, and there's a family winery right next door. I chose the Barbera from the estate 👍
