Trattoria San Sisto In Bologna

We ordered four San Sisto risottos and three desserts: everything was delicious! Special thanks to the waiter, who was very kind and friendly. Quick service, a smile always present, and a true "Big Apple" atmosphere. We'll be back!

The perfect place to enjoy traditional Bolognese dishes without the frills. The handmade first courses are excellent, and the meat-based second courses are delicious. Highly recommended!

I have been going for 20 years with the meat you can't go wrong for the rest I can't review as I go there only for the meat. I always book.

Excellent trattoria. They specialize in grilled meats and they deliver on their promise. We had an excellent grill, some interesting cuts I wasn't familiar with (like bavette), very reasonable prices, and excellent table service. Highly recommended.

Reserve a table before coming, otherwise it will be a luck measuring! The place is fully booked every night by locals, whether you will get a table without reservation depends on how many people booked and the turnover rates… We had 2 dinners here in 3 consecutive days because the first day we didn’t get a table when arrived at 20h40 without reservation, so we booked the next day straight away. Fantastic fresh pasta dishes and their ragu tasted really different among 10+ ragu bolognese we had in Bologna. Simple yet rich flavor, you can literally taste the simmered meat melting in your mouth, balanced with red wine and tomato to the perfection, the texture of the fresh tagliatelle is deliciously chewy, far beyond the on purpose “Al Dente” of dry pasta. Remember to save some space for the secondi piatti as the grilled are also unmissable, all ingredients are local sourced, so you will enjoy all typical Bolognese flavors just like the locals do. Friendly and efficient services and you can tell everyone works together in seamless logistics. We were impressed by all the staff especially the young muscular lad who’s super kind and hospitable. It’s not a tourist place/social media influencer and I wish it will never be… Try as many dishes as you possibly can, then you will agree that Bologna deserves the Italian food capital.
