A truly magical dive into the past. It brought back memories of my childhood when I would go to my grandmother's house for dinner. The aroma and taste were truly exceptional.

A historic restaurant (founded in the 1950s) offering the finest Bolognese dishes (the boiled meat corner—overseen by a gentleman who expertly prepares portions according to customer requests—is a pure cultural heritage that we are sadly losing). The restaurant is very large and spread across several rooms. The food is truly excellent and of great quality; I enjoyed everything I ordered. The service is excellent (the timing between dishes was excellent). Another strong point is the staff: we were served by Selene, who was very professional and kind… A word of advice: don't leave your table without trying the zuppa inglese, the best zuppa inglese you can find in Bologna. May 1, 2026: Update… We've been back and can confirm how delicious this place is (excellent service: we were served by a very friendly waiter; food: exquisite). I noticed that, as soon as the weather gets warmer, they set up a few tables under the portico. This time I couldn't resist: on my way out I bought a large glass bowl of zuppa inglese!…

I'll start by saying that my expectations were high given the reviews and what I'd heard... unfortunately, they weren't met. The tortelli in broth were disappointing, cooked incorrectly (hard and tasteless). What a shame! The tagliatelle were okay, the lasagna was okay, but the roast and boiled meats weren't very convincing. The zuppa inglese was almost all cream, but where's the biscuit? The almond cake was good. We found the bill a bit steep.

Good! Especially the boiled meat. We had tortellini in broth, tagliatelle with ragù, a boiled meat dish for two, and two desserts. We were quite satisfied. The staff was kind and welcoming.

The only reason it's not a five... That's only for absolute perfection. Saying that, I've never had a better risotto in a restaurant... Ever, and this one was a mushroom risotto. Also, had the mixed roast meat platter. I was sceptical about it and I was wrong to be. Even the chicken meatloaf with peas and carrots was great. Try this. That's my recommendation.
