I gorged myself on fresh fish cooked a thousand ways. After the appetizers, you have to force yourself to go any further, but I managed. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Everything was excellent, and Giancarlo was a wonderful host. Highly recommended.

A must-visit seafood restaurant in Catania! This family-run restaurant offers fresh local seafood, a taste unlike anything you'll find in the tourist area, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the shrimp platter, and the shellfish and fried fish platter are also delicious. The fish at the table across from me looked great, but unfortunately, I was already full. The staff were very welcoming, taking us into the kitchen to see the fish and shrimp and patiently offering advice. When we left, we left our bag containing important documents and money in the restaurant, and the owner chased us back to return it. This was our last restaurant in Sicily, and it was the perfect way to end our trip.

Excellent food accompanied by impeccable service. Giancarlo, besides being the owner, is passionate about his craft, and that makes all the difference. I will recommend him to my guests at my accommodations and to all my friends and acquaintances.

The food was excellent, but the octopus was so tough you almost broke your teeth. The marinated shrimp were very good. The pasta alla Norma was really good, but I left a third of the beef fillet because the meat was sinewy and stringy, although the flavor was very good and the meat was juicy. The service, however, left a lot to be desired. They didn't seem at all interested in us, even though we were practically the only customers. No one asked if we liked the food. The waiter brought the first course when the table hadn't yet been cleared after the appetizer. The staff dragged the tables and placed them next to us, making a lot of noise. We felt like intruders and lost interest in dessert. Maybe it was just a bad day, or maybe they don't like tourists...

I wish I could find the best words to describe how great we had at this trattoria, which we'd just discovered, but they'd be too limiting. You have to go and experience it! I also wanted to post photos of the various dishes they brought us here, but... we devoured everything without thinking about Instagram shots, thinking only of the deliciousness and freshness of what we were savoring. Well, I only took one photo: a spectacular fried fish dish, with giant, meaty red mullet and scallops. I've never seen anything like it! The owner welcomed us so kindly, and offered us pasta with anchovies and fennel, Catania-style, and homemade rice crispelle, delicious! The entire staff was truly kind and attentive. I felt like I was staying with a relative. After years of wandering around seafood restaurants and trattorias, I think I've found the perfect place, the one I'll always return to, and the one I'll definitely bring my parents too.
