Trattoria Pane & Vino In Verona

Our recent short stay in the wonderful city of Verona, brought us across this hidden gem of a eatery. Based just outside the old town, down a side street, our group of three popped our heads in to find a buzzing place, packed to the rafters with the click, clack and resonating chatter of happy customers. The accommodating staff found us a table in the outdoor enclosed cosy courtyard, brightly lit with a warm atmosphere. Great choice of local regional dishes along with usual Italian fare. Service and food excellent, no rush or push and prices very reasonable. Looked and felt like a locals favourite place. Wonderful experience.

The food was fabulous. We appreciated the presentation and detailed description of the dishes. We'll be back.

The staff were very courteous and friendly: they even found me a table on Saturday evening without a reservation, which was truly appreciated. Very good food and a pleasant atmosphere. However, I was disappointed when they refused to prepare the Amarone risotto. I understand there's a minimum of two people, but since I was alone, I couldn't have done otherwise. I would have appreciated more flexibility or at least a possible alternative (wait for another table's order?). Special thanks to the two waitresses: the brunette with curly hair, who was incredibly kind, went out of her way to ask her superiors and try to help me, and the blonde, who was very courteous and always smiling. Overall, however, it's a restaurant I recommend. UPDATE AFTER THE RESTAURANT'S RESPONSE I'm adding one star to my previous 3-star review. They were also kind in their response. I recommend it!

Overrated on Google. Staff make no effort to make you feel welcome. The food is far too expensive for what it is. There are much better alternatives in Verona.

The service is very sloppy and rude . and the food was not so Tasty. also the table was full with empty glasses and plates so no place for new diches. The food was not worth the price.

It’s a hidden gem. This is my second time eating here - the first was four years ago, and now again. They haven’t lowered their standards; both the service and the food are amazing, with local dishes, cheeses, and a wide selection of local wines. The prices reflect the quality - in fact, they’re very reasonable for what you get. The service is impeccable. What I love most is that it doesn’t feel touristy, even though it’s in the city center, on one of the quieter streets near the Duomo. I will definitely return on my next visit to Verona.

Don't be fooled by the name, there's very little of a trattoria here: we enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch in an elegant setting, accompanied by welcoming service. The menu isn't overly extensive, a sign that the food is good here, and they also offer tastings. The risotto all'Amarone is excellent, and the dessert is spectacular. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat in Verona!

We had a wonderful meal here on our day trip to Verona. The starters, mains and dessert were all excellent. The red wine recommended to us by the waiter for our meal was also perfect. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful and accommodating, making sure my meal was gluten-free. The lovely ambiance with jazz standards in the background was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special dining experience in Verona. Five stars
