Trattoria Morello In Messina

Authentic Sicilian trattoria that really deserves it. Open only at noon! It's a good idea to make a reservation...we went without but luckily managed to eat! (Very good indeed)!

Good quality ingredients and well cooked, the place is small and you end up having lunch next to each other, but the environment is nice and there is a nice atmosphere. Advised.

If you want to find a real trattoria, this place is the right place. Small but welcoming and "warm" room, colorful furnishings that immediately evoke Sicily: in short, a trattoria from times gone by. And in fact, the Morello family has been entertaining and catering to customers since 1975: I was a student when I started frequenting them. The cuisine is that of the seafood tradition (including stockfish always present in the menu) above all, but also of Messina and Sicilian "land" in general. An assorted buffet offers appetizing mixed starters prepared, like traditional dishes, with genuine seasonal and local products. The dishes offered are well prepared, following tradition, and do not disappoint: at the beginning, a small appetizer is offered by the manager. At the end of the meal, another offer consists of sweets and liqueur (with bergamot, artichoke and pink pepper) strictly "homemade". The service is familiar, courteous and attentive. The cost is consistent with the good things consumed: in short, a restaurant that I recommend and should be recommended.

Una splendida scoperta, non conoscevo la trattoria Morello nonostante sono di Messina, la vera trattoria!!! il cibo è cucinato in maniera eccellente, una gioia per il palato, piatti della tradizione Siciliana cucinati a dovere, ho mangiato del pesce stocco arrostito squisito, per non parlare degli antipasti, dei primi piatti dal risotto alle tagliatelle, la tuma e foraggio fritto ottimi, la Signora che ci ha servito gentile e molto garbata, per non parlare della proprietaria, che ci a messo a nostro agio in un attimo illustrandoci e consigliandoci a meraviglia. Consigliatissimo!!!!!!!

De passage à Messine cette recommandation du Routard est à ne pas manquer. La famille Morello est charmante, le lieu a beaucoup de charme, et, nous nous sommes régalé!
