Trattoria Morello In Messina

If I could give them more stars I would! The space is lovely curated, the service was amazing (everyone is so nice and you feel so welcome despite the language barrier!) and the food… So tasty and with fresh ingredients. I recommend trying everything, the appetizers buffet, the main dishes and the deserts! If I ever comeback to Messina I will definitely return here :)

I ate at La Trattoria Morello for the first time a full 25 years ago. I discovered them by chance, and as only rarely happens, I fell in love with it immediately. For years, it was my go-to place for business meals, family lunches, or whenever I wanted to surprise someone with a memorable invitation. A few years ago, I started traveling, and my visits to the Trattoria came to an abrupt end. I finally managed to return for lunch today, and it was a tremendous pleasure to discover that the welcome, the delightful feeling of dining with family, the quality of the ingredients, and the care taken in preparing the dishes have not only remained exactly as I remembered, but have even improved, if that's possible. If you're passing through Messina or if you live there and have never dined at LaTrattoria, I highly recommend you try it at least once. You'll fall in love with it like I did.

A pleasant atmosphere, with delicious food! The dessert was fabulous! Cassata - the best I've ever had!

They don't like foreigners. We were sent here by our hotel but Morello did not let us in.

I went there for lunch today. There are very few trattorias like this left. Those who know it can immediately sense the work that goes into the dishes and the sourcing of the ingredients. I personally tried the lamb ragi and the scialatielli with artichokes and guanciale, both exceptional! Excellent service and an atmosphere that reflects the name "Trattoria." I'll be back!

I just want to say thank you. As a Messina native (now a "former"), returning for just a few days, I discovered this little gem by chance. Beyond the truly high-quality, typical food and wine experience, I was able to appreciate what being Sicilian should always represent: kindness, humanity, hospitality, and pride in one's own excellence. One of the best places we've eaten, we felt right at home, tasty food and a relaxing atmosphere, Mrs. Maria and the waiter were two exquisite people... if we return to Messina it will be our regular stop... highly recommended if you want to eat like at home
