We were there two nights in a row, everything was exceptional, from the appetizers to the desserts. Definitely worth a try.

A traditional trattoria with delicious, artisanal dishes, everything is expertly homemade by Mara, the owner. The service is fantastic and welcoming; we had a wonderful evening. Truly unbeatable!

If you happen to be passing through Castiglione D'Orcia and it's almost lunchtime, you absolutely have to stop by Cassero. Excellent food, professional service, a simple location yet immersed in a beautiful village rich in history. We were welcomed and served by a mother and daughter, both super professional! Congratulations! I recommend trying all their crostini (€1 per crostini, for €9 you get a top-notch appetizer), and I also recommend the pici, cooked perfectly!!! You can choose from a variety of toppings. You're spoiled for choice!! The wine is also spectacular!!! Wide selection of glasses and bottles. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! ❤️😎

I highly recommend trying the excellent food and family atmosphere here. The dishes are prepared with care and skill, offering expertly prepared local dishes, and the new owners, Mariateresa and her family, are very helpful, friendly, and always smiling. We return every time we visit these wonderful places, and their hospitality never disappoints, especially their attention to our little boy and the dishes they serve. Try it and believe it.

In three days, we enjoyed this trattoria's exceptional Tuscan cuisine twice. The first time, we enjoyed the appetizers and desserts; today, we returned to try the first and second courses. Thanks to a family-run business that infuses decades of care and expertise into the dishes and service, Il Cassero offered us an intense and satisfying sensory experience.

In addition to the delicious dishes at this trattoria overlooking a picturesque square, I'd also like to mention the kindness of the owners, who are incredibly helpful. After my bike got a flat tire and there was no one in the village to fix it, the owner offered to drive me and my bike to the nearest mechanic, an unexpected gesture that truly touched my heart… Besides this, we tasted extraordinary homemade pici and excellent crostoni. The tables under the pergola overlooking the square are gorgeous! Highly recommended if you're passing through this village!

Welcoming and friendly staff. An excellent house antipasto, generous enough for two, with a selection of Pienza pecorino cheese and local Cinta Senese cured meats. The first courses were also good.

Located in the historic center of town, we were very impressed by this trattoria. The menu offers a wide selection of traditional Tuscan dishes, some with very imaginative names. Everything is cooked really well, and the staff is very kind and professional, very attentive to what's going on around them. To drink, we ordered their house red wine, and unlike many places where they serve undrinkable wines, their San Giovese was really good. It's a shame we couldn't return to try something else since we were passing through after a hike. I think there's a problem with parking; the restaurant is located in the historic center, which is in a restricted traffic zone (ZTL), which at the time was accessible but with a 30-minute disc. Outside, we only found a two-hour disc zone, so we stayed there. We were in a hurry, and we don't know if there are other options.

Una vera sorpresa questa trattoria di Castiglione d’Orcia, dove siamo stati accolti con calore ed educazione, merce rara di questi tempi: ci hanno riservato un tavolo in veranda dove siamo potuti stare comodi anche con i nostri due boxer. L’ambiente è molto familiare, e anche la cucina rispecchia l’ambiente: genuina e molto saporita. Abbiamo scelto alcuni crostini misti, poi come primo mia moglie dei pici al sugo in bianco di nana, e io poco al vino nobile e ragù bianco di cinta senese: entrambi semplicemente divini. Io poi ho preso il coniglio in bianco, abbondantissimo, e ci hanno omaggiato di una porzione di cipolline in agrodolce semplicemente spettacolari. Acqua, mezzo litro di vino della casa (un Sangiovese in purezza), ci hanno offerto i caffè e le cipolline, 70 euro. Prezzo più che onesto per la qualità del cibo mangiato. Grazie, appena torneremo a Castiglione d’Orcia torneremo a trovarvi.
