Trattoria e Pizzeria Antica Capri In Napoli

Excellent typical dishes of local cuisine.

We had high expectations for this place but unfortunately we found it to be just mediocre. We had the appetizer plate that is premade and nothing special. My pasta was just okay nothing special. Service is fine. The house wine is really bad. We don’t think we will go back on our next trip to Naples.

To be honest I came here after recommendations from people I trust. Those same people told me about Antica Da Carmine which I have returned to 4 times. Antica Capri was full the first time I tried to come, but I managed to get a table the second time. The waiter was friendly and accomodating and recommended me a starter and a main. Starting with the starter: Mussels with breadcrumbs on top. To be 100% honest it was a rather flat dish, not really exciting and the breadcrumbs were soggy and gritty. Main course, their famous seafood pasta in a bowl with beans covered in dough. The waiter proudly cut the top off the dish and whistled as he walked away. Let me get this straight out, it was decent, but far from great. You know when seafood is too fishy? It sounds idiotic since it IS seafood, but there is that line where it becomes offputting because its too pungent. Well, the addition of beans and clams-mussels is definitely not one i'll go for again, perhaps this truly is a local delicacy and they crave it like I crave ramen but I'm on the outside here... I definitely won't say the dish tasted bad, it was just not to my taste. I'll skip this in the future and head back to Carmine where every dish I've tried has been exemplary. Perhaps Antica Capri used to be good and lost their way? I don't know.

Characteristic place where I often return because the food is good and you spend the right amount. Few seats, it is better to book or go at less crowded times

I feel sorry for all the big and famous and hyped pizzerias.. Here in this shop I have eaten the best pizza I have ever eaten in my life

Best seafood scialatielli I've eaten, something special. The rest was fabulous too......fried anchovies I didn't have time to take a photo 😂 Courteous and hospitable owner

Indicazione ricevuta da un amico locale piccolo ma ben organizzato antipasto ben variegato e di ottimo gusto il top raggiunto con il primo pasta e fagioli con frutti di mare servito nella terracotta e ricoperta con pasta della pizza e infornata… sublime…. Ottima anche la grigliata

Cena in famiglia in un locale molto speciale. Conosciamo Rosario da anni, siamo venuti 2 giorni di fila e non ci siamo pentiti. Il personale è cortese e molto disponibile. Abbiamo mangiato da dio! La cucina è molto casalinga ma piena di sapori. Rapporto qualità/prezzo buono. Grazie Rosario sei sempre una garanzia!

Small place in the alleys of Naples. Excellent first courses and generous portions. Must try!
