15/08/2026: To be honest we were really happy about the food in Alba, this is one of the place where we ate the best in Italy. Hostaria Dai Musi definitely contributed to the great experience, with top notch food. We first tried the battuta di vitella with tartuffo nero as entrée, the raw meat was perfectly seasoned and the truffle add great taste and balance to the dish. Then we had the raw Shrimp with saffron rice and the plin pasta with brown butter, they were the highlight of the dishes! They were perfectly cooked, not too salty and they tasted amazing. Finally we had desserts, a revisited lemon tart and a more Classic tiramisu, both perfectly executed. Overall 5 stars + in regards to the food experience, the service was OK but not up to the food experience. This being said we highly recommand this restaurant to enjoy a really great food experience.
03/08/2026: We ate very well at several restaurants in the city, but Hostaria dai Musi is clearly the one that impressed us the most.
While many restaurants in Alba offer – often with great skill – the classics of Piedmontese cuisine, Hostaria dai Musi takes a different approach. The cuisine is much more creative, without becoming unnecessarily sophisticated. The combinations are original, the ingredients are perfectly prepared, and the presentation of the dishes is of a very high standard. Each dish truly feels like it has been meticulously planned down to the smallest detail.
The difference lies precisely there: we didn't just eat very well, we had a true culinary experience.
The very pleasant terrace also contributes to the enjoyment of the meal, as does the service, which is professional and efficient without being stuffy.
Given the quality and reputation of the establishment, reservations are essential.
Of all the restaurants we discovered during our stay in Alba, Hostaria dai Musi clearly holds a special place. An address we would gladly return to!
