Excellent location in the center of Burano, excellent service, and even better risotto al go!! If I may offer a suggestion, a place of this caliber could offer its guests a small appetizer while they wait.

Nice food and beautiful ambiance

The only redeeming feature is the service. She's a very attentive student. The rest of the staff and plate bearers make the food quite unpleasant. However, it must be said that the product is very good.

Da Romano is more than a restaurant: it’s a Burano institution. Four generations of the Barbaro family have run it since Romano turned his bottega into a trattoria around 1920. The walls are crowded with paintings, a legacy of the artists who dined here from the 1930s onwards. The food lives up to the history: a wood-grilled plate of sea bass, bream, monkfish and prawn (8.5/10); a briny-fresh frittura mista of Adriatic fish and vegetables (8/10); and the signature risotto al nero di seppie - deep, poised, umami-rich (8.5/10). Tiramisu was lighter, coffee-shy (7/10). Bussolai biscuits, meringue cake and a rare santonego grappa closed the meal - rooted in Burano, straight from the lagoon.

We ate pizza, the pizza capricciosa was delicious, with thin crust. Unfortunately, the salami pizza had pieces of sausage. Is that what they call salami? 😄

Siamo stati alla Trattoria da Romano durante una giornata tra le isole veneziane e l’esperienza è stata davvero eccellente. A causa di un ritardo del vaporetto da Murano temevamo di perdere la prenotazione, ma il personale – gentilissimo e comprensivo – ci ha rassicurato e ha mantenuto il nostro tavolo fino al nostro arrivo. Una volta accomodati, siamo stati conquistati dall’atmosfera del locale e dalla cura del servizio. L’antipasto e i primi piatti erano abbondanti, preparati con pesce freschissimo e ingredienti di qualità. I sapori erano genuini, bilanciati e pieni di carattere. Unico piccolo dispiacere: non siamo riusciti a provare il celebre risotto di Go, purtroppo terminato. Ma è solo un motivo in più per tornare: torneremo sicuramente, anche solo per assaggiarlo. Complimenti sinceri a tutto lo staff per la cortesia e la professionalità. La Trattoria da Romano è una tappa obbligata per chi visita Burano e vuole vivere un’esperienza culinaria autentica e di alto livello.

À chaque fois pendant notre séjour à Venise nous ne manquons pas ce restaurant. Il est préférable de réserver. Spécialité des produits de la mer. Un des rares endroits où vous pouvez déguster des petits crabes bleus pendant la saison, exceptionnel. Un très beau service et un personnel agréable. À ne pas manquer.
