I returned to this trattoria in Carpi on a Friday evening.
Gnocco fritto and tigelle with cured meats and cheeses to share, all very good.
The first courses were excellent: two tortelli with old Modena pumpkin and macaroni with sausage, truly out of this world!
Excellent and fast service.

Characterful restaurant in Carpi. Traditional cuisine in a quaint setting. Dinner with friends began with pork cracklings and a second course of pasta dishes, remarkable for the quality of the pasta and the sauces. The tortellini were excellent, but the gramigna was something special. It continued with delicious baskets of tigelle and fried gnocco filled with cured meats, lard, and cheeses! It ended on a high note with Nutella! The bitters that came to the table after the coffee were appreciated! Well done!

A confirmation every time I pass by.
Unfortunately, I live four regions further down, otherwise I'd be a regular.
The typical appetizer with cured meats, fried gnocchi, and tigelle is truly excellent. Even the local dishes are clearly not made in the cheap way I've tried elsewhere.
The bulk wine is good, the Lambrusco being a lovely red, and even after a half liter, it didn't leave any unusual marks. Even the kids ate very well.
Super fair prices.
The only thing that could be improved is opening on Sundays, but they'll have to rest, too.

A lovely trattoria just outside Carpi. It's one of those old-fashioned restaurants, well-maintained but well-kept. The atmosphere is informal, homey, and friendly. It's often crowded, with plenty of tables, and the food is excellent. Classic Modenese cuisine: first courses, gnocco, tigelle, and traditional second courses, also available outdoors. Reasonably priced, excellent quality-to-price ratio. Highly recommended.
Call before you go, as there may be no seating. Enjoy your lunch!
