Trattoria Arco dei Gavi In Verona

We ate Tagliatelle Al Tartufo and Spaghetti with duck. Very good dishes. Really good pasta. The best we ate in Verona. I recommend it!

I had dinner in this trattoria right in front of the Gavi arch last Saturday, during a dinner with work colleagues and I must say that I was very surprised! For being located right in the center I expected a more "tourist-catching" trattoria with very high prices and mediocre food quality and instead I found a place very popular with Veronese people and with a really interesting and well-made menu. We opted for the traditional boiled meats with pearà, but I was pleased to note that the other dishes that were served were also really interesting and I will definitely return to try them! As for the boiled meats, it was a good dish with some excellent ingredients (such as smoked Prague ham) and the pearà was not bad. The quality/price ratio is really excellent and the staff is kind and easy-going like the trattorias of the past. A pleasant surprise in the historic center!

Very good traditional restaurant. We had dinner there and the meal was great. We were well received and well seated. Excellent value for money. I recommend this restaurant for those who want to eat in a less touristy place.

Found by chance, wandering through the reviews of typical trattorias in the cities of Verona. Tried once, we return regularly to taste the typical Veronese and Mantuan dishes, served by kind and attentive staff. Bollito con peara leaves you speechless, but the first courses are also excellent.

Excellent opportunity to taste truly interesting dishes. Friendly and very helpful staff. Attention to detail in the environment. I ate a platter of mixed cured meats, with grilled polenta, cheeses and sweet and sour onions. Then a dish with unbeatable ravioli all'amarone with radicchio filling. I had a glass of Valpolicella Tommasi. In the end: only compliments!

Ho cenato in questa trattoria proprio di fronte all'arco dei Gavi Sabato scorso, in occasione di una cena tra colleghi di lavoro e devo dire che sono rimasto molto sorpreso! Per essere situato in pieno centro mi aspettavo una trattoria più "acchiappa turisti" con prezzi molto alti e qualità del cibo mediocre ed invece ho ritrovato un locale molto frequentato dai veronesi e con un menù davvero interessante e ben fatto. Noi abbiamo optato per i bolliti della tradizione con la pearà, ma ho notato con piacere che anche gli altri piatti che passavano erano davvero interessanti e tornerò senz'altro per provarli! Per quanto riguarda il bollito era un buon piatto con delle eccellenze (tipo il prosciutto di Praga affumicato) e la pearà non era male. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è davvero ottimo ed il personale è gentile ed alla mano come le trattorie di un tempo. Una piacevole sorpresa in centro storico!
