Excellent trattoria in central Verona. Traditional Veronese dishes. Average value for money. Worth at least a visit.

Friendly, old fashioned place with lots of regulars, especially at lunchtime. Good pastas, meats, and the vegetable contorni. Delicious pasta with Zucca and sausage!
Reserve to avoid disappointment.

A Veronese meal among Veronese: the Arco dei Gavi trattoria lives up to expectations. It's packed even on a Monday evening, with almost all of its guests local, serving typical local flavors. The hospitality, however, is unexpectedly warm and conversational (prejudices aside), with Grandma Celestina wandering among the tables with her children and daughter-in-law, describing the food on the plates. The cod Vicenza-style is excellent, the boiled meat with pearà (a traditional dish), Amarone, white wine, and grappa for €72.

Typical trattoria with traditional Veronese food. We had a cold cuts appetizer for 2 and boiled meats with a bottle of Valpolicella. Everything was very good. Excellent service and a normal price.

Trattoria Arco dei Gavi, Verona, opposite the magnificent Scaligero Castle.
I went for a business dinner.
The menu offers a variety of appetizers, first courses, and second courses from traditional Veronese, Venetian, and Mantuan cuisine.
Their specialties include boiled and roast meats with the local pearà sauce.
The wine list is well-stocked, featuring their own wines and more (I recommend the Valpolicella and/or Valpolicella Ripasso).
The desserts, for all tastes, are delicious.
The cuisine is typical homemade fare: plentiful, satisfying, and you can even ask for seconds!
The spaces are well-maintained and very welcoming.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
There is no outdoor seating.
Highly recommended for those who want to immerse themselves in authentic local, family-style cuisine.

This excellent restaurant seems to be one of the few places in Verona where English isn't the only language spoken ;-)
Interesting menu with dishes you'd hardly find anywhere else (anymore) – the pasta and fish were excellent, the wine list is extensive, and there was also no shortage of a first-class grappa to finish the meal. Highly recommended – thank you!

Generally, all tables are always reserved.
The manager then decides on an individual basis whether a table is available.

We visited this trattoria during a weekend in Verona. There were seven of us, and we were looking for a place with traditional cuisine. Among the many options, we chose Arco dei Gavi and were truly satisfied. The atmosphere is authentic, family-run, welcoming, and pleasant. The dishes are delicious, carefully prepared, and respectful of local tradition. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making us feel at ease throughout the meal. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to experience Verona in a genuine way.
P.S.: The tiramisu (homemade) was delicious, but the portions were a bit small.

I went for dinner a few nights ago. We had an excellent platter of cured meats and cheeses, caramelized onions (MUST ORDER), and a fennel salad with a delicious sauce. For the first course, a delicious Amarone risotto, followed by a taste of pumpkin-filled ravioli. Unfortunately, I was already full, but in my opinion, they were among the best I've ever eaten. Finally, a selection of desserts, all homemade and truly delicious!
Perfect dinner!
