Cicchetti or whatever. A marvel. From around 10 in the morning you can eat delicious things that come out of the kitchen. Frequented at that time and gradually until midday by friendly and characteristic local people. Then the tourists also arrive. For those who cycle around the Lido, for those who walk on the Murazzi, for those who want to get to Chioggia, I would say that it is an obligatory stop 😊. Even just a little trip to Malamocco is nice.

Hidden trattoria - insider tip for fresh fish on the Lido The most difficult thing for visitors to the Lido is to find the authentic rustic trattoria. It's hidden in the center of the old town of Malamocco - it's almost at the end of the narrow island and you have to take the bus to get there. When you arrive in Malamocco-Centro, you will find that it is the only restaurant for miles around that is open for lunch. The house with the unkempt-looking facade in the narrow old town street is located near the historic Ponte del Borgo. A look at the plates of the guests on the sidewalk terrace shows that the local specialties Frittura Mista and Grigliata Mista are traditionally prepared here. The seats on the terrace were occupied in December because there wasn't a single free seat inside the rustic restaurant. It was surprising to find such a busy restaurant in this deserted place. After a wait of 20 minutes, we were offered a table in the dining room. We later learned that this simple fish restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Venice and is very popular with locals - thanks to Tripadvisor, more and more tourists are discovering this authentic, nostalgic trattoria. There is a selection of regional antipasti classics and a small menu offering pasta variations (with fish and seafood) and the famous Fritto Misto. By the way, the menu is only hanging in the window and you have to remember what you want to order at the table. We were impressed by the quality and preparation of the food. The peeled, marinated Adriatic scampi tasted exceptionally good. The pasta with fresh vongole from the lagoon probably tasted so delicious here over 50 years ago. Although we are not fans of fried fish and avoid any snack-style deep fryer, the fresh and spicy Frittura Mista impressed us with its taste. The secluded Trattoria Al Ponte di Borgo is one of the best places to taste this Venetian specialty in its original quality. Avoid the fast food fryers at the water bus terminal - these are staples for tourists. For us, the chance visit to the trattoria was one of the culinary highlights of our Venice week: authentic local fish cuisine in a nostalgic atmosphere - completely untouristy at the end of the Lido.

19/01/2025: El restaurante Ai Mercati tiene como objetivo ofrecer una experiencia gastronómica sofisticada con un enfoque en platos creativos, ubicados en un ambiente que combina a la perfección la elegancia moderna con el encanto tradicional. Sin embargo, la ejecución deja mucho que desear. El servicio, aunque innegablemente profesional, carecía de un toque sincero, haciéndolo sentir algo impersonal a pesar de la atención del personal. El menú cuenta con una selección moderada de platos que, aunque prometen creatividad, son notablemente pequeños en porción. El pulpo con mousse de calabaza servía como entrante era bueno pero le faltaba condimento, y decepcionantemente, las dos porciones variaban de tamaño. El plato de pasta, presentado como plato principal, era tan diminuto que podría haber sido confundido con otro entrante. Por otra parte, fue sorprendente y un poco fuera de lugar - poner ese aceite de oliva para el pan incurrió en un cargo extra. La carta de vinos, sin embargo, es impresionante, mostrando una buena selección de vinos de nicho que atienden a los entusiastas que buscan algo único. Sin embargo, los precios son bastante altos teniendo en cuenta la creatividad y los ingredientes de los platos. Este desequilibrio dificulta la justificación del gasto. Durante nuestra visita, el restaurante se llenó de turistas en lugar de locales, restando valor a la auténtica experiencia que esperábamos. Si bien Ai Mercati muestra potencial, debe abordar cuestiones como el tamaño de las porciones, el condimento y la relación calidad-precio para alinearse con su ambicioso concepto. A pesar del servicio profesional pero impersonal y la excelente selección de vinos, en general, el restaurante no ofrece una excelente experiencia gastronómica. Si busca un lugar frecuentado por los lugareños, esta podría no ser la mejor opción.
20/11/2024: In einer kleinen Nebengasse gelegen , befindet sich dieses Restaurant vielleicht 10 Gehminuten vom Markusplatz entfernt . Der Service sehr freundlich, ein Kellner erklärt die Speisekarte - ein anderer die Weinkarte - und das überaus sympathisch. Die Speisekarte ist klein gehalten ( was ich immer für gut empfinde) , preislich im Rahmen - Vorspeisen 15- 20 € , Hauptgerichte bis maximal 30 €. Geschmacklich ist es vorzüglich, ich liebte das Risotto aber auch die Wachteln mit Spinat waren ausgezeichnet! Kleines Manko meinerseits: ein bisschen größer könnten die Portionen sein, um sehr satt zu werden bräuchte ich wahrscheinlich 3- 4 Gänge… so war ich nach 2 Speisen zufrieden, ging mir aber noch ein Eis holen …

26/02/2025: A special and totally unexpected experience. I came here with my boyfriend just today for lunch. The environment is familiar, nothing special but it is an irrelevant thing after having received the welcome of the owners who, with the room empty, made us sit wherever we wanted and pampered from the beginning to the end of our stay. The owner, the culinary artist, gained our trust so much that we gave him carte blanche on the menu. We started with a good glass of red wine, bread and breadsticks made by them and which arrived hot. This was followed by a vegetable appetizer, cotechino with mashed potatoes and a dish with very soft bacon flavored with a mix of herbs made by them which makes it truly special, on a bed of cooked cabbage. To conclude the lunch, a generous portion of homemade strudel with hot mascarpone cream, which we shared, and two coffees. In short, homemade dishes, made with passion and dictated by inspiration, accompanied by such a familiar and impeccable welcome and service that it can only make you feel at home. I hope to be able to come back to try it for dinner too!
