A Mystical Journey between Tortellini and Valpolicella
If there is one thing I didn't expect, it was to find myself in a parallel dimension made of ancient flavors, medieval legends and a waiter who seemed to have come out of a chivalric novel.
As soon as I crossed the threshold of this trattoria in the beating heart of Verona, a light aroma of melted butter and truffle welcomed me with the same intensity of a Shakespeare love sonnet. Tables in worn wood, bottles of Amarone peeking out from the shelves and an atmosphere that oscillated between the rustic and the mystical.
The Starter: An Oracle of Flavors
The waiter, who I will call Ser Bartolomeo because of his regal posture and almost theatrical gestures, recommended me an assortment of cured meats that seemed to have come out of a Renaissance banquet: culatello as soft as a promise, lard that melted on the tongue and a mature cheese who had seen more winters than a wise old man. Every bite told a story.
Then he arrived: Sir Amarone Risotto. But not just any risotto. It was an out-of-body experience. Dense in flavor, it seemed to be distilled from centuries of tradition, while the seasoning contained a flavor that to define as divine would be an understatement. I had a little existential crisis halfway through the plate, wondering if I'd ever really tasted risotto before this one.
Just to end on a high note, I succumbed to the call of the Veronese specialty which combines puff pastry and almonds in an embrace that tastes like home and ancient recipes kept in secret. One bite and I felt adopted by the city.
The Verdict: I will also return in Another Life
The service was impeccable, the wine perfectly paired and the final feeling is that of having made a culinary pilgrimage to a sacred place of taste. If Verona is the city of love, then this trattoria is its gastronomic cathedral.
Rating: 10/10 with bow and toast.

Excellent service and food, risotto cooked to perfection, the place is rightly a little dated, a little chaotic and with too little space. Prices a little high.

Locale in pieno centro non solo per turisti mordi-e-fuggi
Ottima la selezione di salumi, grande esposizione di formaggi e scelta di vini
personalmente io ho optato per delle tagliatelle (molto buone)
i miei colleghi hanno scelto baccalà o stinco, entrambi apprezzati
Una menzione alla Offella (dolce tipico veronese)
Conto decisamente non economico, ma considerando location e qualità del cibo, adeguato

Osteria di alto livello nel centro di Verona, a due passi dalla casa di Giulietta.
Ottimi piatti a base di carne, e cantina molto fornita. Locale curato, con atmosfera elegante ma casalinga al tempo stesso.
Senz’altro un’ottima scelta per una occasione importante.

A welcoming place, fascinating with its black and white photos, it seems to be in an environment from times gone by. Care in the presentation of the dishes, care in the choice of the products served, accurate service, attentive staff, ready to satisfy requests and curiosities. I definitely recommend it.

Fantastic location in the heart of Verona.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent quality of food.
We ordered the fillet with green pepper, really very good. The cold cuts are also fantastic.
