too pricey … it’s a luxury to eat in verona these days .. shame as we used to come here all the time. Prices are extortionate now

The food was good. The ambient is nice and the staff is okay. I think the food here is NOT worth the money. Besides being overpriced, they also charge "coperto". We had 4x coperto on our bill despite the fact that it was only 3 of us (and they gave us the table so if they sat us down at a table for 4 it's their problem). Coperto costs 3€/person. We visited multiple restaurants in Verona and around Italy (my partner has many work trips to Italy and currently has to stay in Verona for 3 months) and this never happened to us.

The location is beautiful, located in Piazza San Zeno, one of Verona's most beautiful neighborhoods. That said, the quality of the fish is average, the fish salad is mediocre, and the fried fish is greasy and lacks crispiness. The bill is exorbitant for the quality.

❌ Last but not least The trattoria is a historic and well-established place where the food is always high-quality and the welcome is always warm. I went for dinner without a reservation and they seated us with great courtesy and helpfulness. The service is always impeccable and "warm," creating a friendly bond with the staff that makes the dinner even more enjoyable. The eggplant, caper, and olive dish 📸 was amazing. Served quickly and perfectly cooked. The wine list is well-stocked, and the Cremant sparkling wine lived up to expectations. The scampi in the second course and the dessert, however, were subdued. The scampi were fresh (obviously), but the accompanying base wasn't convincing. The berry cheesecake was a disappointment 📸 (alas). Honestly, it wasn't very tasty and the portion was small for €7. Next time, I'll try the tiramisu, which looked more appealing. 4 stars of appreciation.

Excellent seafood restaurant in the center of Verona. We ordered a first course, linguine allo sciglio, which was really good. The mixed fried fish was decent, very well done... the only ingredients were shrimp rings and shrimp, which reminded me more of a pizzeria, but a quality one. Two first courses, a second course, water, and 1/2 cup of wine, for €77. I'd say the price was average. The portions were decidedly generous. Good!

My partner and I ate a delicious seafood risotto, well-made, tasty, and with the rice cooked just right. We tried the Venetian cicchetti, but they're reheated in the microwave. The flavor was good, but they were soggy. A good selection of wines, and the desserts were well-made. The restaurant is also beautiful and quaint, next to the beautiful Church of San Zeno.
