Torcolo In Verona

There are tons of traditional northern Italian restaurants in Verona. Trust me, over the past month I have tried them all. I have actually dined here three times because I love it so much. The service is excellent. The food is excellent. And it’s very reasonably priced. I have eaten the truffle tagliatelle pasta twice. It’s perfect cooked with a beautiful cheese sauce and topped with fresh black truffles. The best part is they stop by your table and shave even more fresh truffles on top. It’s so delicious. I also tried the risotto all amarone here. It was actually very good and the flavor wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be. Definitely share it with your dinner partner. I also tried the polenta appetizer. Three polentas with salami, mushrooms, and burrata cheese. It was ok. I wouldn’t get it again. The other pasta I tried was the paccheri con salsa pomodoro. Beautiful big noodles like rigatoni with a tomato sauce and burrata cheese. And a final dish I tried was the branzino. Very common here. Always prepared the same. It’s sea bass, so white fish, delicate and good. The first time we had tiramisu for dessert. Very good but not needed. They bring you a tray of bite sized desserts. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Recommended by our hotel “Milan and Spa”, we had a very good lunch in this restaurant. Our entire meal was excellent, the different dishes, the wine, the service. The table decoration, the plates, the serving of the truffle in its LV box, everything is put in place to allow you to have a good meal. Tourists passing through but also locals are not mistaken, it is an excellent restaurant!

Exceptional restaurant. Never eaten such good boiled meat. Comfortable and very nice environment. Top service, very friendly waiters make you feel at ease.

An extraordinary place where food and setting go hand in hand. Heated terrace, impeccable welcome, excellent food. A note of luxury enhances your dinner. I recommend.

Highly recommend the truffle pasta - it appears to be the best thing on the menu by far. I really didnt know what I was getting myself into- the Versace plates were quite something, and then when the Louis Vuitton chest of truffles came out I was stunned! I also got the Garden vegetables starter which was a mistake - having both was far too much food.

Traditional local food of excellent quality, all cooked with expert hands despite the location being highly frequented by passing tourism. Very characteristic inside, perhaps I find the excess of fake painted and real plants and lights everywhere a little redundant, personal taste (I prefer sober elegance and modernity)

High level restaurant both for the environment and the food... it was a fantastic lunch. If I ever end up in Verona again, I will obviously return.

The drink is very expensive. A glass of wine 12 euros.

Il ristorante di Verona dove "comunque" si deve andare, almeno una volta. Perche' è famoso, sono famose le persone che sono venute a cena qui, e la cena qui è sempre un'esperienza. Con la quale siamo combattuti. Arredo tipico che sfiora anche il kitsch, tavoli sin troppo ravvicinati (se volete scendere in toilette dovrete fare un bello slalom "stretto" ), e siccome è sempre affollato (ancor piu' in questi giorni prima di Natale), preparatevi a un baccano che metterà a dura prova eventuali emicranie. Poi abbiamo i piatti di Versace e il servizio sempre rapido e puntuale, forse anche ...troppo rapido, se è vero che il nostro risotto all'Amarone è arrivato al tavolo cinque minuti dopo averlo ordinato. E purtroppo esageratamente al dente (per non dire un filino crudo). Scenografica la "grattata" di tartufo sulle tagliatelle, con il prezioso tubero estratto da un ...forziere del tesoro. Molto piaciuto il fegato alla veneziana con polenta. Ma qui si viene soprattutto per il carrello dei bolliti. Praticamente lo prendono quasi tutti. Poi ognuno ha la sua idea di bollito. Noi non scendiamo in campanilismi regionali e abbiamo gustato questa versione veronese, straordinaria a contorno la peara', eccellenza ed esclusiva locale. Ma non solo la peara', anche il kren era ottimo, cosi' come la mostarda e il pure' (eccezionale nella sua semplicità), mentre abbiamo assaggiato salse verdi migliori di questa. Non avevamo piu' spazio per i dessert, ma col caffe' arriva un dovizioso e abbondante cofanetto di piccola pasticceria, fra assaggini vari di torte di mela, pere e cioccolato e pasticceria varia. RIcarico dei vini abbastanza elevato, prezzo in linea con la fama del locale.
