It was my first time at this osteria, and I have to say it was a wonderful discovery! The quality of the food (pork is the star product) is excellent, a delight for the taste buds. The atmosphere is truly unique, original, and makes you feel immediately at ease. You can see several elements that demonstrate the owner's humor and passion, and I applaud him for his friendliness and ability to welcome customers like few others. The only flaw is the somewhat small size of the place, which partially limits the "room to maneuver" (but that's the least of it). Overall, I highly recommend it and hope to have the opportunity to return soon.

An over-the-top place, deliberately friendly and entirely pork-focused. It's hilarious, and the owner is eccentric and super friendly. The food, all made exclusively with black pork, is excellent, nothing less than exceptional. If you like pork, a visit to the spa is a treat you must treat yourself to. You won't regret it.

A truly original place, as only a true Emilia-Romagna native could conceive. The staff is helpful and friendly. The menu offers a varied selection of traditional dishes as well as delicious off-menu options. I highly recommend the lard and honey crostini and, the highlight of all, the fried cotechino. Despite being lactose intolerant, the staff was very attentive to my request, and the sausage-filled tortello, originally served with butter, was instead served with oil. The flavor was exceptional, ❤️ all washed down with a nice Lambrusco and coffee. The location is "hidden" enough to allow for a quiet meal at reasonable prices right in the heart of Reggio Emilia. As a native of Ravenna, I encourage the owner to open a branch in Romagna again because the food has captivated me!

If there's a paradise for those who love real, authentic, and expertly prepared pork, it's called TERME DEL COLESTEROLO in REGGIO EMILIA.
It's located in the heart of the historic center (between Piazza Prampolini and San Prospero), lively, warm, and familiar.
We popped in out of curiosity and left with bellies full of joy, light hearts, and the absolute certainty: we'll be back whenever we can.
Dinner totaled €40 for two: quality, quantity, and enjoyment deserved a standing ovation!
We ordered the legendary "Prepotenza Suina": a 900g pork ribs with aromatic herbs, cooked at a low temperature until tender, juicy, and fragrant—it literally falls off the bone with a fork! The herbs add that perfect aromatic touch; nothing heavy or greasy, just top-quality meat cooked to perfection.
And the baked potatoes on the side? Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just the right amount of flavor: the perfect pairing that lets you finish it all without regrets.
To finish on a sweet note, a delicious homemade profiterole – creamy, balanced, the perfect counterpoint to so much pork "arrogance." Everything is authentic, nothing industrial, just how we like it.
The atmosphere is an explosion of joy: hot pink everywhere, super cute pigs (the logo is already iconic!), and fun decorations that make you smile from the first second.
The service? Pure kindness, funny jokes, just the right speed: they treat you like a lifelong friend. Generous portions (that 900g ribs is an epic challenge, but one we won with honor!).
In a word: phenomenal. Terme del Colesterolo isn't just a restaurant, it's a pork full love experience.

I'll leave the usual reviews to others... a very unique place with undeniable charm. The girls who looked after us were very friendly and kind. The owner: COCCO, superlative. It's clear it's more of a passion than a job.

There were 3 of us, and it would have been our first taste of the "pig," and so it was!!!
A downtown restaurant that exudes friendliness and passion from the wonderful host, "Cocco," and above all, "fat" from every wall of the place 😜, with all the photos, ironic paintings, and spa slogans....!!!
A truly original and one-of-a-kind culinary experience in every dish. We expected dishes that would raise our cholesterol, and we were rightly rewarded!
No offense to other dishes, but a special mention goes to His Majesty Fried Cotechino, Fried Erbazzone, Porchetta Lasagna, and the Sausage and Lambrusco Tortelli, not to mention the slow-cooked pork ribs... just look at the bone, which falls off on its own, leaving that succulent and tender meat, a unique pleasure!!!!! 🔝🔝🔝
But if there was something that struck us even more positively during our lunch, it was the gift Cocco gave us with his presence at our table. We felt privileged in this sense, he spent quite a while with us, sharing stories from the past and anecdotes of his experience at his restaurant, with his disarming wit, but always with discretion!!!
He alone IS WORTH the TRIP!!!
An experience we'll definitely repeat, and may the "Pig be with you"!!!

An excellent and typical lunch in Reggio Emilia! The owner is always present and welcomes his guests with care, especially the details about the cuisine, which are crucial when you're unsure of what to order.
The spinach dessert is a definite must-try!
