A charming, peaceful, and quiet place, away from the crowds of Tropea's main streets. The staff is friendly, kind, and helpful. The aperitivo della grotta is varied, featuring typical local products (in the future, I recommend two of each item served if you're a couple). The Tropea onion is the star and is excellent. The stuffed anchovies are spectacular, especially the cooking and the tomato sauce. The only flaw is the hard bones at the beginning and end of the anchovy, which I removed and would recommend removing regardless before serving, but that's a matter of personal preference. Overall, everything was excellent.

What a treat! Exceptional place where we ate like a god; the fileja allo scoglio was delicious, as was the fried fish. Impeccable service, reasonable prices, and a huge satisfaction. If we're in the area, we'll definitely be back.

The location is pleasantly quiet and somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. In the evenings, you can breathe a little more air, away from the crowds on the street.
We had the risotto with guanciale twice, which we enjoyed quite a bit. For the second course, we had the veal steak, which was okay in terms of taste - it could have been a bit better.
All in all, though, it was still a good experience :)

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Taverna Antica Grotta and ordered the Antipasto della Grotta (€15), which we shared, and two first courses: Fileja Antica Grotta (€14) and Spaghetti alla Tropeana (€13). We drank a bottle of local red wine (€15) and water (€2.50). The cover charge is €2.00. We had a wonderful time because the dishes are crafted with skill and passion. All the ingredients are fresh, local, seasonal, and traditional. The staff in the dining room are both helpful and very kind. The outside area is clean and tidy. I personally recommend booking. If we have the chance, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
