I rarely leave reviews, but this restaurant truly deserves it. Excellent service, starting with the tasting of the latest-pressed local EVO oil. The presentation of the wines and dishes was professional. The fish was incredibly fresh and the dishes were generous. To conclude, I (finally) tried the authentic Sicilian cannoli, made with ONLY ricotta and topped with pistachios and almonds.

A restaurant we'll definitely be back to. The quality of the fresh, local produce is evident. We ordered spaghetti with squid and bottarga, and it was exquisite. We also had sardines with vegetables, and they were equally delicious! We ordered everything to share, and they were kind enough to serve the pasta directly onto two separate plates. We also want to highlight the attentiveness and friendliness of the waitress (who spoke Spanish) and who loves cats, just like us. If we ever return to Sicily, we'll definitely go back to this lovely restaurant.

Our Airbnb host recommended Sicilia in Tavola for authentic Sicilian cuisine, and it absolutely delivered. The restaurant has a charming old-world feel, tucked into one of Ortigia’s beautiful laneways, with a relaxed atmosphere that feels genuinely local rather than tourist-focused. The service was excellent throughout. The team was confident, knowledgeable, and gave great food and wine recommendations. For a relatively intimate restaurant, they also seemed to have a very impressive wine cellar. We started with the Sicilian ceviche of shrimp, octopus and white fish marinated in lime, which was fresh, vibrant and beautifully balanced. For mains, we tried two traditional Sicilian pasta dishes. The spaghetti with squid, bottarga and golden datterino tomatoes was packed with flavour, while the spaghetti with sardines, wild fennel, pine nuts, raisins, and toasted breadcrumbs was unlike anything we’d tasted before and a wonderful introduction to classic Sicilian cooking. Dessert was the Syracuse lemon tart, filled with a light lemon cream, and was the perfect finish to the meal. A wonderful combination of authentic food, knowledgeable service and local atmosphere. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Ortigia and want to experience traditional Sicilian cuisine.
