Last night we were at Savana, a great surprise, the food was excellent in its simplicity, good South African wine, quick service and courteous staff at an excellent price, I forgot you eat with your hands, no cutlery to try.

FABULOUS experience! I'd already tried this fantastic cuisine, but I wanted to bring some friends to try these unique flavors. Just steps from Milan's Chinatown—hence the limited parking—we're right in the city center, so you can enjoy a top-notch food and wine experience. Biniam, the very friendly owner, guides you with warmth and professionalism through the dishes on a simple, typical, and traditional menu. There's no shortage of good South African wines (just be careful with the alcohol content!), so we ordered one. It was very good, even if it was a bit stale, but it was delicious. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, with its traditional metropolitan style (as you can see from the photos), is the work of an Eritrean artist who is a friend of the owner. It might be a bit spicy for some palates, but I liked it. Service is quick, and there's a small room inside for those who want to organize group dinners. We'll definitely be back. We recommend booking, even though tables fill up quickly.

Savana is an excellent Eritrean restaurant, in every way! The atmosphere is very comfortable and characteristic, the food is excellent, with a wonderful selection of African wines, and the staff is extremely friendly. The zighini, a traditional dish to share, is also available in a vegetarian version, with the option of a second helping of any of the main courses. The appetizers and desserts round out an excellent traditional dinner. Thank you, Savana!

Excellent Ethiopian restaurant. We had the opportunity to try the meat sambusa, lentil rolls, and kutfo as appetizers. Next, we ordered the meat and vegetarian zighinì. A gluten-free version is also available upon reservation. Highly recommended if you're looking for a new experience.

What a Special Experience. We chose this place to try Eritrean cuisine for the first time, and it was an experience we'll want to repeat! The restaurant is quite intimate, and to fully immerse ourselves in this part of the world, we chose to sit upstairs, where the atmosphere is even more evocative and characteristic. The traditional low wooden tables and chairs and the softer lighting made the wonderful colors of the walls and furnishings stand out even more. The ingredients are also colorful. We sampled both the vegetarian and meat versions. The ingredients are carefully crafted, and nothing is left to chance in that thin bread base that serves as a cradle. The balance of flavors is impeccable. The cover charge also includes an all-you-can-eat "bread" menu, but don't give in to temptation and save room for the eggs and chicken. The wine selection is also dedicated to the Earth: bold, highly enjoyable and attractive, intense wines that perfectly complement all the dishes. There wasn't time for dessert this time, but there was an interesting selection, including some off-menu items. Big compliments to the service. Welcoming, attentive, and dynamic. The young woman who served us was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and warmed our hearts with her smile! The sommelier was a feast for the eyes, with a dynamic and kind spirit to spare. Well done everyone! We created memories and found a new favorite. I can't wait to visit you again!
