SantoPalato In Roma

We had pollpetta and tripa as a starter and a carbonara pasta for the main course, all exquisitely prepared, each dish delicious. There is a very good assortment of wines. Excellent service, everyone is very friendly. I highly recommend this site.

At SantoPalato they make the best amatriciana on earth, even better than their carbonara. It wasn't the first time I went, but it proved to be an EXCELLENT experience with an absolutely honest price. Two appetizers, two first courses, two glasses, two desserts, bread and coffee cost 40 euros each. A price absolutely in line with the rest of the "like" places in Rome. Extensive wine list, with the possibility of ordering glasses by the glass, young and friendly staff, ready to explain and advise. I think about you more often than I should admit ♥️

A cosy restaurant tucked away in a side street, and some distance from tourist attractions, with a few tables inside and out. I tried it at lunchtime so can’t tell what the ambiance is like in the evening. The food is homey and excellent, though not necessarily refined. The house wine is equally good.

Very famous, excellent dishes, better to book well in advance

Attentive and friendly service, but the meal was not as good as expected considering the price and the difficulty of getting a table. This place is overrated for its food performance.

Pricey but good Quality! And fine dining experience

Apart from the difficulty in booking, given the place is often always full and the few places available you have to book well in advance, the culinary experience was decidedly interesting. A typical Roman tavern with some innovation and an excellent instinct for raw materials. There is nothing shocking but it is certainly all excellent. Definitely worth returning.

Locale famosissimo a Roma, anche per il fatto di dover prenotare con amplissimo anticipo dando anche la carta di credito come caparra. Quando finalmente ci siamo andati, effettivamente il locale è piccolino per la sua fama, ma forse meglio così. La gestione è molto giovanile, il menù è molto ristretto ma c’è un’ampia carta dei vini. Insomma abbiamo preso la celeberrima carbonara (confermiamo tutto!!) e quindi due secondi molto buoni: budello di agnello aromatizzato secondo ricetta e polpetta di coda alla vaccinara. Per chiudere, un dessert una torta alla zucca molto buona.

Dopo mesi di attesa siamo riusciti a prenotare un tavolo in questo ristorante che porta sulle sue spalle tanta aspettativa. Dopo esser arrivati siamo stati accomodati nella sala interna, davvero piccola e con pochi coperti (ora capisco il perché della difficoltà di prenotazione) Dopo esservi seduti dal menu io ho ordinato, ovviamente, la Mezze maniche alla carbonara (Mezze maniche, uovo, guanciale, pecorino romano, pepe) e poi ci siamo condivisi il Piccione, zucca, nocciole e fichi secchi. Il tutto accompagnato da una bottiglia di Puszta Libre Gekuhlt Servieren. Purtroppo abbiamo dovuto aspettare tanto per un problema in cucina (40 minuti), ma ne è valsa la pena perché la pasta era davvero super buona, gustosa e deliziosa. Il piccione a sua svolta, servito in due porzioni scomposte era morbidissimo, gustoso e saporito, mescolato soprattutto con la zucca, wow! Complimenti allo chef, davvero! Anche complimenti ai ragazzi di sala, simpatici, sempre presenti e disponibili! Complimenti davvero a tutti!! Super consigliato!
