Toppo cool family restaurant in the middle of the ancient Appian Way wowwww

I had an amazing time here, after a morning walking some of the Appian way. I sat at the garden and had pasta, aperol and tiramisu, the food was delicious. Sitting in the garden was very restful and peaceful and also cheerful. It’s a cute family eatablishment, I was served by the ‘granddaughter’ who was super nice and helped me with the lunch selection. She also gifted me a pin, a picture of one of the historical monuments nearby and some orange ice. It’s clear that a lot of people who eat here are regulars who know each other. All in all much recommended.

Ate here July 2025 so late on review, rented bicycles in trastevere for Appia Antica, biked down quite far, by chance stopped here on way back and this place was probably the best food we had in Rome. Literally debated on just riding back and getting something near hotel. We ordered a variety of starters and main dishes and this was beyond what we expected, more than what is shown in attached photos, and ordered house wine. We talked to some staff, very courteous and gracious, they let us meander around the place taking photos, this place is what you would refer to as a true hidden gem😄😄😄 it is outside of the chaos of the city center, and just stopping here and having this experience, when I never would have ever been here in my lifetime otherwise, made this stop an unforgettable part of our trip to Italy.

Lovely late lunch at this tucked away gem. The place and staff radiated so much happiness and hospitality that it was almost a restorative lunch after a long and hot walk. Highly recommend

A great restaurant on the Appian Way. The gnocchi with gorgonzola, the pasta with zucchini and saffron, and the tiramisu are excellent. You can have lunch on their terrace or under the large tent.

They seemed a bit flustered when we showed up because they had just hosted a huge event and we speak “survival” Italian only, but they were more than happy and accommodating, providing us with an insanely delicious bistecca alla Fiorentina. We were so happy to have had the pleasure to eat there and to enjoy the location and service. And the bistecca was out of this world. Grazie mille!

A pleasant family discovery We visited this trattoria yesterday for a family lunch and were very satisfied. We started with an excellent appetizer and continued with some truly flavorful pasta dishes, such as cacio e pepe and strozzapreti with zucchini and saffron. The atmosphere isn't fancy, but it's exactly what you're looking for in a true Roman trattoria: a welcoming and charming place. Kudos to the staff, who were friendly and very helpful. The quality-price ratio was fair and not excessive. We'll be back if we're in the area again.
