Salsedine In Vasto

High-quality seafood restaurant. Highly recommended.

A very charming restaurant located in the historic center of Vasto, with very friendly staff and fairly fast service. We ate really well, trying the mixed appetizers (plentiful and well-made), the seafood first course (allo scoglio) was excellent, and another first course (alla salicornia e bottarga, fresh spaghetti with chili pepper) was equally excellent, although I would have preferred less salicornia. We also tried the mixed fried fish, which was definitely good. If I really had to make a comment, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the desserts. We tried three different ones, and while they were good, they were a bit too creamy. I think the brownie would have needed a scoop of ice cream (it's a must), as without it, it's a nice piece of chocolate. Overall, dessert aside, it was excellent and definitely worth a try. We'll be back.

The place is excellent and fits perfectly into the centre of Vasto. There are few items on the menu where the quality can be improved. The staff is not very attentive and disrespectful towards the customers. For the lobster, gloves can be served in addition to the apron.

Unpretentious tavern The downfall is the service, specifically the "head waiter." Basically, a lady who doesn't understand that customers are paying people, and therefore her responses and manner must be professional. The food is average. You still pay €50 per person. It's a shame about the service.

A good seafood restaurant, serving fresh, original dishes where the main ingredient (the catch) isn't overpowered by too many ingredients, allowing you to appreciate its flavor. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable, and the staff is friendly. With a large number of customers, service can be a bit slow, but in good company, time passes easily. Sound-absorbing panels would probably help reduce the sometimes distracting chatter.

A refined atmosphere and professional, courteous service. I enjoyed an excellent, far from ordinary, raw fish platter and the chili pepper bavetta with salicornia, clams, and bottarga. Both were truly delicious, but the bavetta was truly unbeatable. I finished the meal with a dulce de leche, which was also far from ordinary in its preparation. The dishes were meticulously prepared and the wait times were perfectly reasonable. The prices were in line, in fact, very reasonable for the quality offered. Excellent experience, highly recommended.

Found it by chance while walking through Vasto. We were very lucky to find the last table for two available. Generous portions, excellent ingredients. All accompanied by very friendly staff who recommended a wonderful wine.
