Royal Gourmet In Varenna

We had such an amazing stay at Hotel Royal Victoria in Varenna and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Lake Como. From the moment we arrived everything felt welcoming and effortless. The hotel arranged to pick us up from the train station which made arriving in Varenna so easy after traveling. It was such a thoughtful touch and really set the tone for the level of service we experienced during our stay. When it was time for us to leave they also dropped us back off at the station which we really appreciated. We stayed in room 104 and the room was absolutely beautiful. It had that classic Lake Como charm but still felt very comfortable and elegant. The room was spotless and peaceful and it was the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed when you walk in. The hotel itself is stunning and being right on the lake makes it feel like a truly special place to stay. Breakfast each morning was fantastic with a great variety of fresh food and excellent coffee. Sitting there with views of Lake Como was the perfect way to start the day. What stood out the most though was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Federica from the concierge team. She helped get everything set up before we even arrived and gave us great restaurant recommendations while we were there. Having someone so helpful made a big difference for our trip. The location of the hotel is perfect and Varenna itself was an incredible place to stay. It made the whole Lake Como experience feel even more special. We will definitely be back if we ever return to Lake Como. Staying here is absolutely worth it compared to staying at a larger chain hotel in Como. The charm, service, and overall experience made this a truly memorable stay.

Excellent location, attention and service

Very disappointed with the hotel: - The rooms in the photos were nothing like the one I actually had, which was old and poorly decorated. - The restaurant was listed as open on Google+ on the website, but in reality, upon arrival, we were told it was closed until April, even though practically all the restaurants in town are closed in the evenings during that period. I would have appreciated being informed of this beforehand. - The spa was never listed as an extra: €100 for one hour is outrageous. So, I really felt ripped off with very mediocre service and that I was only paying for the location with its view of Lake Como.

Good hotel, good location, in the center of the town.

A fantastic 19th century place to stay right next to lake Como in Veranna. A short 900 metres from the rail station, it gives you the colonial vibes (we were travelling light with 2 carry on luggages, yet they insisted on the concierge to bring up the luggage). The rooms and the toilets are clean and well kept. The hidden gem is the bar downstairs, which is very well stocked. We were served by Andrea, who was very patient with our choices of whisky and gin. The aperitif with the drinks were very nice. There is a nice restaurant attached, and if you are late in the night (past 7 pm in the evening), this should be your place to dine. The staff are friendly. Definitely a place to stay in Veranna.

Gorgeous hotel with amazing views. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The two young ladies I dealt with at the concierge desk were a great help. A short ten minute walk from the train station and 5 to the ferry

Excellent location. Stunning views. We stopped here for lunch and Shady served us. It was a wonderful experience. We will remember it for a lifetime

A wonderful hotel. Very attentive service, directly on Lake Como. Morning breakfast is excellent as well with incredible views.
