Excellent restaurant in Gorizia! The appetizer, first course, and second course of fish were truly excellent. The wine selection was also excellent. Highly recommended.

Excellent, carefully prepared cuisine featuring fresh, local produce. The fish and seafood come from the nearby Adriatic, the vegetables from friendly farms, and the wine from trusted local producers. The service is gentle and reassuring, as is the setting. In short, you feel at home at Rosenbar and want to return without hesitation.

We're lucky to have such an excellent restaurant in town! The menu is varied and seasonal, with excellent, tasty dishes. The dessert menu is so extensive you'll never know what to choose, and the wine list is equally extensive. Congratulations, and keep on spoiling us! I recommend making a reservation.

Bad luck for the waitress, and a little for us too. I'll start by saying I chose the restaurant thanks to Raisin, a natural wine app that recommends it. I asked for a natural wine, and she told me the supplier hadn't delivered, suggesting organic... oh well, I must have gotten the wrong restaurant. Having seen some photos and being at Radikon, I tried to ask for Ribolla Gialla, and the waitress said yes, yes, the 33cl. Oh my goodness, I hope she understands and brings me the right wine. Radikon arrives at cellar temperature, 2008! A gem. We asked for a menu without fish, and she told me we were at the wrong restaurant. I told her I'd called and it would have been done somehow. In fact, we ordered a really good prosciutto crudo accompanied by giardiniera on a bed of tuna. Tuna? Yes, exactly, there must have been a mistake, my daughter is allergic. I asked the waitress for confirmation, and she told me it was mayonnaise, not tuna. She gave me a look that betrayed her disappointment. Okay, my daughter insists and tells me it was tuna, so I try it, and it's tuna! I get up, take it to the kitchen, and report the mistake. My daughter is allergic, she'll go to the hospital if she eats fish. A little later, a new giardiniera arrives on a bed of mayonnaise. They apologize, but I point out that it's not a matter of apologies, this is going to the hospital. Okay, I'll drink a glass of Radikon and forget about it. Back to natural wines, my neighbors at the table are the Radikon family and Paraschos, two excellent ones. Let's get to the bill: cash or card? Cash. Okay, the waitress reports the incident to the owner and asks him to prepare the bill, deducting something for the tuna issue. The owner tells her to sort it out (it's fair enough, you made a mess, deal with it), and she prepares the bill, without deducting anything! Who knows! Okay, I open my wallet and he tells me cash isn't acceptable because he had put a card payment, but I had asked for cash payment. Well, okay, we pay by card. In all this, I think back to my request for natural wines and see a fridge full of all sorts of goodies, my favorites. And thinking back to the waitress's response about organic wines, I realize that the staff needs training or they shouldn't be allowed to speak. I'm giving it two stars for friendliness. All that said, I ate well and will try to return, hoping for service on par with the cuisine. Marco

Off-center location, period building and rooms, also with outdoor/garden spaces. Seafood cuisine with imaginative recipes and reinterpretations, generally well-balanced and enjoyable. Quality ingredients. Good wine list with a selection of wines (limited quantities!). Adequate price/quality ratio.

Me and my wife's long lasting hidden gem. Peter, his wife and the new young staff...wow. The music, the atmosphere, the food....so simple, but yet so complex...a school of simplicity, where the basic ingredients come to the highest possible level.

Trattoria al pescatore

13/11/2025: Prime location on the harbor canal, right where working fishing boats dock and unload their catch, though not in the evenings. It's a lovely place to sit, and you can enjoy watching the boats. The service is attentive, friendly, and dedicated, and they speak several languages, some fluently. The menu is typical for Grado, and of course, there's fish and seafood, and perhaps a schnitzel for the kids. The prices are reasonable by today's standards. The food itself is perfectly prepared, and you can make special requests. The fish and side dishes are served piping hot for everyone at the same time, and the main course arrives only after everyone has finished their appetizers. The calamari fritti and polenta are particularly noteworthy—both silky smooth and so flavorful that you'll close your eyes and start humming, much to everyone's envy. The vongole with clams and cappuccino are also worth mentioning – every ingredient shines through, and there's not a hint of oversalting – kudos to the kitchen, especially to Juri. This talented chef, who also worked for years as head chef at De Toni in Grado, elevates every dish to Michelin-starred heights – even his pizzas become culinary masterpieces. Go again and again!
