An interesting experience in a historic restaurant in Gorizia. You can eat excellent quality fish masterfully prepared by young people in the kitchen (at least it seemed that way to us).
A very well-kept restaurant well managed by the girl who goes by the name of Amalia. The owner is the typical gentleman host who puts you at ease and sets the mood to enjoy the experience. Excellent wine list. Absolutely recommended.

It is a historic restaurant in Gorizia, already in the Michelin guides, where you can taste traditional dishes, with some additions from the creativity of the chef who (beautiful) came to the table to tell you about her dishes. You will find the Gorizia snack, fish-based dishes (very fresh) and an environment that will make us relive an Austro-Hungarian climate. Advised!

Surreal experience: they also showed the menu of the day to regular customers, to us only the tasting menu; whoever was serving us took the lead then sat down at the table with some fellow diners who were friends of his and started eating with them, which would also be nice - however unusual - if it weren't for the fact that when he got up from the table and we asked him for the third glass, in the list of wines that we had hypothesized with him at the beginning, he replied that we had made a mistake in choosing the second and he didn't bring us any more wine (never mind, two glasses are enough and there's plenty left over, but is that the way?!); they evidently forgot when they were supposed to bring us dessert, because we waited over ten minutes for a cream with strawberries. The food: interesting main courses, good first courses and desserts, but without infamy or praise.
It seemed like we were at those Dinners with Murder, but we were the dead man.

Good restaurant with excellent raw materials. The setting is delightful. Watch out for thorns in fish and creamed cod. Not too professional service from the older gentleman (e.g. if the waitress drops a cutlery behind you, you don't turn to look at it because that way you underline the gesture, which can happen) and who is not very accurate in giving descriptions of the wines, while the waitress is very good. The eggnog cream with strawberries is a normal cream. We had the table next to the service table (divided only by a divider) and we could hear all the conversations as well as the shuffling of the plates and cutlery that had just been collected (maybe this thing should be moved to the kitchen?)

Refined restaurant, which pays extreme attention to local products and food ethics, promoting the responsible use of raw materials. Various tasty vegetarian options. I thank Mrs Michela for her courtesy and hospitality.

Tutto come ce l'aspettavamo. Locale con atmosfera mitteleuropea: curato e accogliente. Servizio attento e puntuale del titolare sig. Piero e della giovane cameriera, con alcune uscite ai tavoli della titolare e cuoca sig.ra Michela. Menù con prevalenza di pesce fresco del nostro mare ma presenza dei piatti della tradizione locale, come il goulash, tutto ottimo con una nota di merito per le polpettine di verdure da non perdere in stagione. Scelta di vini essenziale composta da alcune cantine locali selezionate dal Rosenbar (da notare che ci si trova in una delle zone di eccellenza italiane, dove si producono vini bianchi riconosciuti in tutto il mondo) con possibilità di scegliere i "vini della casa" proposti dal sig. Piero che sono stati una vera sorpresa...un Wow per lo spumante di ingresso a base pinot nero e chardonnay e il vino bianco naturale a base ribolla gialla. Un locale da segnalare per un ritorno.

L'ambiente ha quella leggera patina d'altri tempi, nel senso più romantico e bello del termine. Dall arredamento dall'aria apparentemente modesto al servizio apparentemente semplice, tutto fa rivivere un tempo ed una tranquillità oramai forse perse. Cucina sublime, portate nelle giuste porzioni. E che dire della titolare, e fantastico chiacchierare con lei e sentire quanta passione nelle sue parole per il suo lavoro.
