Strange arrival; we waited at reception for almost 15 minutes before anyone arrived. Problem getting our room. The room itself was nice, spacious, with a lake view... Pleasant staff. Breakfast was average for a 3-star hotel; everything was pre-packaged: ham, cheese, rusks...

Location... Family style small hotel with a strong 90s vibe to it. Basic breakfast. Rooms are old but exceptionally clean. You are literally on the lake! The restaurant next door is the best food in miles radius.

Very nice quiet old fashioned family run hotel.

The rooms are tastefully decorated, and the hotel is situated right on the lakefront - a trade off between traffic noise and gorgeous views - it is an easy choice. The staff are all wonderful people, very helpful and sympathetic. The location is a little isolated as it's not a main stop for buses or ferries, though the ferry stop is being reconstructed and the bus stop is literally a few metres away. There is a convenience store down the little street at the entrance, and a few different eating options, including traditional pub, trendy wine bar, family restaurants and cafés. A short stroll away you can find the post office (limited hours to about lunchtime) and gift shops. Right next to the PO is a store which sells souvenirs, liquor, pasta, etc, and also the best Latte Macchiato - run by an elderly couple. A little further south is Tremezzo, with ferry access to Belaggio and Varenna. Although the rooms have a few minor defects like peeling wall paper, there are all the amenities you could want - a fridge, TV, aircon, fan, heating, your own shower gel and an extra towel for the face. With its stunning views of Lake Como, you'll be ecstatic with your stay at Hotel Riviera.

It’s a good memory to stay at Hotel Riviera, I arrived in late night at 10 pm, and staff still waiting on welcome, feel safety for travelers. The hotel is located by the lake, in a peaceful area. I can see the lake through the window. I like this hotel because I feel like living with local people, in their home. Thank you for good service, before leaving I have some conversation with Italian man, in this hotel, he is a friendly person, hope we see them again. Greetings from Thailand.
