Riva Destra In

Appena arrivati dopo 900km di macchina finalmente si cena. La riva destra e’ piena di ristoranti con menù che si somigliano ma la differenza questa volta l’ha fatta il ragazzo che invita a sedersi, si chiama Mimmo. Offre a me e mia moglie un buon prosecco freddo e ci fa accomodare. La cameriere gentile porta i menù. Abbiamo 2 bambini presi subito in simpatia. Abbiamo cenato presto e pian piano il ristorante si è riempito. Lo spaghetto a vongole era davvero buono e generoso. Il nostro antipasto misto mare, dire ricco e’ poco. Impepata di cozze generosa e buona. Grigliata mista buonissima. Vino della casa perché in 2 una bottiglia non riusciamo a finirla. Prezzo giusto nella media degli altri.

I came across this restaurant while I was walking on the right bank.. I come across the owner's gaze.. we look at each other.. we recognize each other and I discover that I have already been his customer when he worked for another restaurant.. in two minutes, as good Neapolitans, we tell each other about ourselves and I discover that Mimmo has made the leap in quality, going from employee to manager of a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea where he serves traditional dishes, from Neapolitan pizza to fish from our gulf... I sit down and enjoy a delicious dinner in a truly welcoming place. What can I say... it's wonderful to see a street urchin demonstrate that dreams can always come true. Exceptional place, excellent food, impeccable service, affordable prices compared to average. Great Mimmo, may the wind fill the sails of “Fratelli Riva”

It was very nice that we received glass of appetitive at the begining for free. However what disappointed me is, that on sign it says "Restaurant and pizzeria". There are only ca. 5 pizzas on the menu and when visiting around 13:30 it was not possible to order pizza. Otherwise staff is really kind and try their best, but honestly also pasta tasted average to me.

Our last two days in Italy we stayed on the lovely island of Ischia. We ate two meals at Fratelli Riva after being disappointed at other restaurants. The fresh caught fish was spectacular with pasta. We were brought a plate of fresh caught fish and allowed to chose, then it was taken to the kitchen to be cooked immediately. Delicious!!

Così come da titolo della recensione un eccellente ristorante, dove gustare le specialità ischitane. Gentilissimi i giovani proprietari ed il maitre. Alla prossima e auguri di buona Pasqua.
