Tourist trap, go somewhere else

Lovely Food and impeccable service with thanks to Alex who made our evenings so memorable.

Had dinner at Taverna Azzurra and the view of the water along with the vibes in Sorrento were spectacular. The seating on the road was very enjoyable. I ordered the Spaghetti alla Napoletana and it was good. The calamari appetizer for the middle was very well-cooked, quite tasty (as was the shrimp). Very nice restaurant in Sorrento!

Imagine sitting by the sea, under a shaded pergola, served with professionalism, and enjoying exquisite, but above all, fresh, and tasty food. All this accompanied by a backdrop of sheer cliffs and the sea caressing you with the lapping of the waves. Well...then you've thought about sitting here...at Taverna Azzurra.

The restaurant is located in a relaxing and pretty location. It is breezy since it’s by the water and it’s close to a corner so not very congested. It is very clean and the waiters are constantly picking up the tables and preparing them for the next guests. The food came out quickly once we ordered. The lobster, shrimp and calamari were good. Meanwhile, the sardines, tiramisu and rum cake were not very good (my husband on the other hand liked the sardines so it may be an acquired taste). We also didn’t like the gelato as much as other places we have tried. For three antipasti, one main course, two desserts, and three gelato we paid around 200 euros which for the quality is a bit high in my opinion. As many restaurants we have tried in Napoli and Sorrento the service is verrrry slow. The waiters rarely come to check in on you and you have to constantly flag them down or remind them to bring you something like your drink, lobster cutters, and/or the check.
