We dined at Soul Kitchen Matera as a couple and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed – ideal for a cozy dinner for two. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant without being intrusive. The food was of outstanding quality: fresh, creative, and perfectly balanced in flavor. You can tell that the chefs cook with passion. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful presentation and the harmonious aromas. The price-performance ratio is also excellent. We would gladly return and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

We decided to stop here for lunch on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. I'm vegan, and the restaurant staff were very accommodating in adapting the typical dish of "orecchiette con cime di rapa," which usually includes anchovies. 😊 The dish was delicious!

01/04/2026: My wife and son and I were in the beautiful city of Matera last week, and right below our B&B, we decided, at the recommendation of many locals, to try this excellent restaurant. We started with the traditional peperoni cruschi, then moved on to the excellent orecchiette with mushrooms and sausage and a traditional soup. But the real masterpiece was the dish that gives the restaurant its name: the Pignata. A pan covered in oven-baked bread containing tender and delicious sheep cooked for 18 hours with potatoes and carrots. We finished with a delicious, crunchy and bitter dessert. Top Peppe from Palermo

'900 Restaurant

11/04/2026: We had dinner there in April 2026. Excellent food, very friendly service. I enjoyed seeing both tourists and locals. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
09/04/2026: They took us quite late (2:30 pm) and for a restaurant chosen on the spur of the moment, it was very tasty, with many specialties on the menu including the famous lamb pie! I recommend it.
