Ristorante Pizzeria Sant'Ambrogio In Milano

We weren't entirely impressed with the decor, but the food was good at a good price, with large portions.

Delicious homemade food at an exceptional price.

We stayed in Milano for 3 days, and this was by far our most authentic and satisfactory restaurant that we did. There are many restaurants in Milano, but we were quite disappointed by the fact that all the restaurants that we found by making a research and tried were in the end mostly targeting tourists and had high prices that didn't really go along with the quality or the quantity of the food we had. We basically chose Sant'Ambrogio because it was around our accommodation, so it was quite random in the first place, but it became our favorite place among all we tried during our trip in Milano, and we will definitely recommend this to our friends and family. We'll come back ourselves for sure if we come to Milan again in the future. We had fried calamari as a shared starter, which was actually not on the menu, but the server told us that a fried version was also possible. Super good and fresh. I had vongole: spaghetti was perfectly cooked in aldente and very juicy with olive oil and shell fish. My partner had a risotto with asparagus and shrimp, and he loved it from the very first bite to the end. We paid 51€ for one entry (fried calamari), 2 dishes (vongole and risotto with shrimps), a pitcher of white wine (a quarter of a bottle, I believe; two good glasses), one sparkling water, one tiramisu and one tartufo. It's a entry-main-dessert course plus a drink per person, and you can't find a restaurant like this in Milano at this price, I think! Needless to say, ALL the staff were incredibly kind. If you are like us, who want something authentic and not touristic, rather surrounded by local people, eating in a restaurant where you can see that staff are not stressed by customers (we've seen some in Milano unfortunately) and rather enjoy receiving customers and be honestly there for us, I recommend this place. We were full and truly satisfied with our experience in Sant'Ambrogio! Don't go to the overpriced, mediocre restaurants catering to tourists in Milan; come here instead! When we visited, it was packed with locals and residents. The owner and staff were all incredibly friendly (unlike some tourist spots where customers are treated merely as a source of money, they seemed to genuinely enjoy running the restaurant and chatting with guests). The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were so reasonable that for just 51 euros, the two of us had a full meal including a set menu, main course, dessert, and drinks. We really, really enjoyed it. This is a place I will 100% return to when I come back to Milan. I highly recommend it!

Wow awesome find, great food, service, value. The portion size is huge. The Coletta Milanese is great, squid risotto, calm linguine, and octopus are so good.

We visited the bistro restaurant yesterday evening and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Everything was truly a 10/10 – from the service to the food, it was all outstanding. We are from Switzerland and can honestly say we would come back again anytime. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They regularly checked in to make sure everything was perfect and went above and beyond to accommodate our individual wishes. We also had a seat where we could see into the kitchen, which was such a special and memorable experience. A special thank you to Marco, Giulia, and Mattheo – you were amazing! We felt very well taken care of throughout the whole evening. Highly recommended!

Fanatastic restaurant, delicious food, pocket friendly, "typical italian" giant portion sizes, friendly service and a happy atmosphere!

For the price-to-experience ratio, it deserves a gold Ambrogino medal from the mayor. Thanks to the price, it brings people to the restaurant who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it. Thank you. Superb service.
