Il Baretto is in a fabulous location! An incredible view from one of the highest points in the upper town. The food is excellent; a light aperitif, not bad.

We found out about this place from the Michelin guide and this was actually a second visit. We went in without a reservation and the staff were super accommodating. The food is so good, it has a familiar feel, like good ol' homecooked meals but with a special twist. I especially enjoyed the pumpkin appetizer, the carbonara and the truffle pasta. Not to mention the pittoresque setting which was so cozy in a rainy day.

Located on San Vigilio hill in the upper town. The outdoor seating offers breathtaking views of the upper town and Bergamo. It can be reached by funicular or by parking for free and having a car pick you up. The food is exquisite, refined, and sophisticated, using high-quality ingredients. They're famous for their desserts (tiramisu). The service is impeccable, and you'll be pampered throughout. A very popular place, I highly recommend trying it—you won't regret it.

Great atmosphere, friendly service
Traditional cuisine, perfectly crafted with a twist. The portions are rather generous for this segment. Dessert is not to be missed, as there are a few surprises waiting for you. Only the speed with which the dishes arrived was a bit too fast for my taste.
Last but not least: The wine list is – as expected – extensive, and advice is available.

We went to Il Baretto di San Vigilio to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and the experience was truly exceptional.
Impeccable service: the young woman who looked after us was extremely kind, attentive, and always available without ever being intrusive. When we booked, we were also offered a shuttle to the restaurant, but we opted for the scenic walk from the funicular (about 20 minutes).
The quality of the food is excellent: traditional dishes like casoncelli or beef with polenta reinterpreted with a modern twist, and delicious fish dishes. Excellent value, too.
The romantic atmosphere and view of Bergamo make this place perfect for a special dinner. Highly recommended!

Comimos en el Ristorante Pizzeria San Vigilio en nuestra primera noche en Bérgamo y terminó siendo la mejor noche del viaje. La pizza estaba realmente buena, tomé una copa de vino blanco de la casa y mi madre tomó un Aperol Spritz, ambos estaban deliciosos. Yo pedí tiramisú de postre y ella tarta de queso, y ambos estaban deliciosos. El personal fue muy amable y acogedor, y las vistas desde el restaurante son increíbles. Definitivamente recomiendo hacer reserva, este lugar es una visita obligada durante tu visita. Excelente comida, buen ambiente y precios muy razonables.

El personal fue muy acogedor y también muy servicial cuando hicimos nuestra reserva. Pedimos una mesa con una linda vista, y nos dieron la mesa de la foto principal, y era hermosa. Hubo una fuerte tormenta mientras estábamos allí y aún así estábamos secos. El menú era amplio y variado y no demasiado caro. La comida estaba buena, aunque disfrutamos más de otras comidas: para nosotros, la pizza era mejor que los lingüines. La cerveza de barril era particularmente buena. Nos alegró mucho haber visitado este restaurante: estaba muy bien atendido por los residentes locales y estaba ubicado en una hermosa parte superior del funicular superior.
