Excellent place near the center of Messina. Easily accessible and open for both lunch and dinner. The menu is based on fish which is fresh. Courteous service and very clean environment.

I have been to Ossidiana for work meetings and for personal pleasure. I have tried lunches, dinners and aperitifs. The quality of the raw materials and the excellent preparation. Tornato da poco dalla Scozia dove il fish and chips rappresenta uno dei piatti nazionali. Ho provato il baccalà croccante dell’ossidiana e devo ammettere che è il migliore che ho mangiato negli ultimi anni. Eccellente il prodotto ma soprattutto Fantastico il piatto, una gioia per il palato. Il secondo veramente buono con degli scialatielli con pesce spada. Ottimo anche il salmone in crosta di pistacchio. Ringrazio mia zia per avermi consigliato questo ristorante.

I stopped by and ate there while on a cruise. Risotto and ceviche were the best. It is full of blue ribbon-like stickers and seems to be a popular restaurant for locals. I especially liked how friendly the waiter was. Recommended!

Zio Billy

30/07/2025: After 30 years, I'm back for focaccia at Zio Billy, and I have to say the focaccia was excellent. We devoured 3 kg. I didn't remember the place being so big, with outdoor tables. The staff was very kind and helpful, even moving us from one table to another because we were with visually impaired people. To top it all off, the bill was ridiculously low, maybe 12 euros per person. These days, finding a cool, quiet, good, and affordable place is rare. I'll definitely be back.
25/07/2025: I had the focaccia. Honestly, there are better ones. It was very salty but crunchy.
