Excellent fish, good service, very nice location; I would be tempted to give half a star more because it is a good restaurant but not exceptional enough to say 'I would go back specifically'. However I recommend it

I was with friends at the restaurant, a terrace overlooking the sea in an enchanting bay among the most beautiful in Salento. Romantic and enchanting evening. The cuisine is excellent with carefully prepared dishes and very fresh fish. The staff is friendly and professional and the service is fast. The view alone is worth a visit

Giorni fa mi hanno fatto un regalo: una cena a Lo Scalo. Ci siamo fatti guidare da Pippi che dai crudi al dolce, ci ha fatto assaggiare prelibatezze uniche e ricercate. Per il primo ci ha consigliato quello del giorno, non poteva fare cosa migliore: paccheri, con tonno, burrata , pomodorini gialli...a descriverlo mi viene l'acquolina in bocca. A rendere tutto indimenticabile ci ha pensato il riflesso della luna sul mare accompagnata da una leggera brezza marina. ...grazie

Menù un po' caro, probabilmente dovuta alla bella location. Primo di spaghettoni neri discreto, cicorie saltate decisamente buone.

We decided to have lunch here to make our own judgment on price quality. The view is indeed very nice, ambiance is definitely there. The staff is very professional and speaks foreign languages. We decided to have a look at the daily fish, but decided to go for the local lobster. The lobster was very tasty, and a 400gram lobster ends up at 80euros, which is I think, normal for an upscale restaurant. Of all the other plates we ordered, we missed a bit the freshness and imagination. They are the only restaurant in this tourist town so they are quite comfortable with what they present. So a bit disappointed by the freshness and quality of the product. We went the other day to Restaurant L'Incanto, 5 km down the road and enjoyed a very nice lunch, with more fresh seafood food, same spectacular view, with locals for less money. So it is all about what you are looking for.
