A decent hotel, where I stayed two nights. Large meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 100 people. Check-in was a bit slow, but the staff was very friendly and professional.

Beautiful and elegant structure. The room is large and equipped with all comforts. The bar/lounge and breakfast room staff are friendly and professional. It is close to the train station, within walking distance.

Beautiful, majestic, and elegant hotel right next to the station. Very friendly staff; they even charged my phone because I didn't have a charger.

Rooms were great and the staff too. Close to the Verona train station. But a 20min walk to the main proper. And weirdly, my room was very dusty. So I was sneezing non stop. Not sound proof too. Could hear entire conversation of the room next to me.

Strengths: The entrance and welcome were worthy of a four-star hotel. The lobby was beautiful, spacious, and perfectly Christmassy, ​​considering the season. Our room, located on the first floor, was cozy. We dined at the restaurant, which offered truly excellent food and very friendly, qualified staff. The international breakfast, with a wide variety of products, was very good; the staff, too, were very friendly and qualified. Improvable: The room heating struggled to reach the desired temperature. The welcome bottle of water was nice, but the completely empty minibar wasn't up to par with a four-star hotel. The shower, located inside the bathtub (a little dated), was definitely not the best. The lobby didn't allow us to spend the evening in the hotel bar, as it was very cold and the heating was most likely not working or insufficient.

Close to the highway. Beautiful hotel, very upscale atmosphere. Comfortable beds. 🐩🐕‍🦺 Especially very dog-friendly. Would gladly stay again.

It’s been years that I have been coming to Hotel Leon d’oro it’s always good to be back as the hotel is spacious and clean. This one time tho for the first time I tried the breakfast (last few times I got it in the room and it was okay). The breakfast buffet was embarrassingly disgusting!! (It’s bad to say I know but it’s the truth) I never had such a terrible breakfast in my life especially in hotels!! There was not even one thing that was decent, even the coffee was terrible! Please do something about it is such a pity!

The hotel presents itself as a nobleman whose only remaining asset is his title. It has a lot of potential, but it needs a good polish... for example, I booked a room that was in dire need of renovation. I think, given that some colleagues had rooms similar to mine and others even better, the hotel is undergoing a planned renovation... I hope so. The television in the room was tiny, and there were no outlets to charge your smartphone near the bedside table. Pros: the friendly staff, excellent international breakfast, and proximity to the station.

Booked a three night stay, at the beginning of November, and chose this hotel due to the close proximity to the train station. It is advertised as being 200 metres away, and probably is, as the crow flies, across a very busy dual carriage way, with no pedestrian crossings, but in reality it is about 800 metres, but this was not a big deal. The bed was at least a Super King and was super-comfy, and the room was spacious. I would say that the hotel might have been a 4* standard when it was built (1990 I think), however by today's standard, I would rate it as a 3*. The biggest issue was that the hotel was extremely warm, and I was advised that there was no option of air conditioning, as the hotel only has one generator, and so in the late Autumn and winter months, they opt to have heating. As a result, we had to open the windows at night time, and as a result, mosquitos entered the room and I was bitten all over. After five days, the irritation has almost subsided. The buffet breakfast was ample, but lacking authentic Italian produce (the cherry tomatoes were flavourless) and the trough of scrambled eggs were so over-cooked, they were almost like rubber. Specific breakfast, e.g. omelettes could be ordered, but only available for extra cost. I have never known this before. The bar tender did not have a clue about cocktails, and I had to advise him, and show him where certain spirits were on the shelf. Not his fault, just poor training. One of the worst things, albeit on the face of it minor, was that in the room there were paper cups, for the tea and coffee. In my 40-years of staying in a range of accommodation, from the highest level hotels, to the cheapest bed and breakfast places, I have never encountered this. Not to have proper cups/mugs is really quite shameful, and is a very poor reflection on a hotel, purporting to be a 4*. I would suggest that whoever has made this commercial decision, has made a very poor one. *A shout out to Maria on reception, who was very helpful before our arrival, in recommending where to go, and also the lovely smiley Precious, welcoming us each morning to breakfast.
