Ristorante Leon d’Oro In Verona

Clean room. Unfortunately, it's only accessible by car (not on foot) from the airport as there's no footpath. And the transfer costs a whopping €10 each way (3 minutes).

We were a party of 4 staying in Hotel Leon d'Oro. Great hotel and ticked all the boxes for us. We included breakfast in our 4 night stay, which was varied, plentiful and delicious. We ate in the hotel restaurant one of the evenings, again great food and worth a visit. This hotel is approximately a 15 minute walk to the main Piazza Erbe, and about a 7 minute walk to the bus station and train station. Easily done by us but if you are doing alot of daytime sightseeing, then out again in the evening, it can seem a bit of a walk. However, we would do it all again because the hotel for us was perfect. All staff were professional and helpful, hotel clean and all bedroom amenities replenished daily, including the towels and sheets changed after only 2 days.

Let me start at the beginning. The entrance was reminiscent of a Hollywood hotel: neat and shiny. The lobby was very clean. I had to pay an additional 30 euros for tourist tax, something I had already paid through Booking.com. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection and fresh food. My boyfriend had two or three bumps on his leg the day after sleeping there. We thought they were bed bugs, but a day later he had no more bumps. We also checked the beds thoroughly. The rooms were a bit old, and the service was a bit unusual. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the friendliness at breakfast and the wide selection. The rooms were very noisy.

If you like to sleep on a concrete bed, go here. Typical 90s "4 star" hotel that still lives in the 90s. Everything shows it's age. BUT, the mattress ..... my back will forever remind me about this one night.

Hotel on the outskirts of Verona, but just a few minutes away from the city center. A somewhat older hotel, in a quiet area close to the river. The rooms and bathrooms are very large. The beds are starting to look worn for a 4-star hotel. A very comprehensive breakfast, well worth it. Recommended value for money.

Pro- pretty lobby. Cons: old, dirty, moldy. Uncomfortable mattress. Furniture with scratches and totally worn in areas. Across from train station about 15 min from center. Fine during day. Certainly would not walk at dark- need to go under an underpass and a bit sketchy area..

Beautiful, well-decorated hotel. Close to the bus and train station, for those who don't mind walking. We didn't have any problems with the air conditioning or the noise, as the reviews suggest; I didn't hear anything from the room. Breakfast had many options. Some staff were very polite, except the breakfast lady was a bit unfriendly. What really left something to be desired was the bathroom, which leaked water from the toilet and made everything smelly. Barefoot in there was out of the question! The high bathtub had no handrail. It was quite dangerous for our grandfather, who was with us, as there was no support whatsoever. The bathtub was clogged; even after removing the seat, it would fill itself.

Very nice. Stayed here 5 nights in July. Peak season. Beautiful hotel. Don't understand some reviews complaining about furnishings etc in lobby. Place is very well appointed. I had an air conditioned room on 4th floor that was spotlessly clean with a fab bathroom. Breakfast is more than fine. Plenty selection. It's busy but plenty of seating and very comfortable. The lady who checks you in for breakfast most mornings deserves a particular mention, such a friendly, welcoming person. Fabulous. Great hotel, couldn't fault. Just over a 1km stroll to the Arena and maybe 500m to train station. Location is fine for anyone who can walk a little. Footpaths all the way
