Ristorante La Vista In Varenna

One of the only rooftop restaurants we could find in Varenna. While the atmosphere was beautiful overlooking Lake Como, the food came short. We weren’t impressed with the pastas, and we had ordered a bottle of hard cider that had gone bad. We did however enjoy the peaches and cream dessert. The servers were trying to rush us out as we were dining late, seemed to be a trend as most of Varenna closes down early.

We were here for a baptism and we had a wonderful time, the service was perfect, the food was excellent and the view of the terrace was unique, a special mention for the delicious salmon

The most picturesque location on town and the food was superb!!!

Pizza and tiramisu were terrific!

Vista increíble, servicio increíble, comida increíble. Nos alojamos en el hotel y tuvimos el desayuno incluido, que era una gran manera de empezar el día! La cena que disfrutamos fue de primera categoría. El entorno íntimo era la manera perfecta de celebrar nuestro aniversario.

We showed up at the perfect time as someone was just leaving and so we were seated within a few minutes for dinner without a reservation. We were seated right by the window and enjoyed a beautiful view for a few minutes while the sun set. I got the risotto special which was perfectly cooked and incredible flavor. My husband got the mushroom ravioli which he really liked. I also got the dessert special of the day which was caramelized peaches with a cream and crumble and it was amazing!! My husband got the chocolate mousse which he said was so chocolatey and paired perfectly with the raspberry sauce they give you.

Fabulosa cena, maravilloso servicio y una puesta de sol espectacular. Excelente selección de vinos y el mejor cordero que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo!

I first stayed at Albergo Milano in 2011. At the time, it was my first time having dinner at La Vista, and it was memorable. Phil, Lori, and I had dinner at La Vista tonight, and it was fantastic. Unfortunately, they no longer have the Gorgonzola cheese ice cream, but the gazpacho, ravioli, perch, and peach dessert of the day were all terrific. I want to thank Alice for making our reservation possible, and we appreciated the terrific service from Liz, Gaia, and Diego. Also, compliments to the Chef for a wonderful meal. The tastes and presentations were exquisite. Reservations are required. I hope you get a chance to try this wonderful restaurant, and experience what I have over the last 13 years.

I’d like to give this an extra star - so maybe 3.5. Because the staff were super friendly and the food reasonably good. But it was an “almost” restaurant. With a good manager and a few tweaks, it could easily be 4/+ stars. Staff need to be more attentive - get the menus out, get the first drinks ordered, offer water (our water glasses sat sadly empty all night). As it was it was “fine”. We had two superior meals in Varenna.

We had very pleasant dinner here, the service was great and athmosphere lovely, with a great view. Food was great, but perhaps hoped for stronger flavours. Big recommendation for this place though!
