Excellent and genuine Tuscany cuisine. Probably the best address of Montepulciano. Great wine list. Very professional service. I returned twice over two days.

This is a beautiful restaurant next to the San Biagio church. It is fine dining with a different flair. The service staff was exceptional. Food was incredible. And of course the wine was delicious and fairly priced.

I've been there twice so far. At first, everything felt great. The menu I chose was perfect, including lamb, and on top of that, I was served wine with the casual service. I went there for the second time recently, and the atmosphere and behavior of the restaurant remained the same, but the main course was the steak? was. disappointing. Still, as a Tuscan restaurant, it's ottimo.

Good morning! I was in Tuscany and had the privilege of going to Ristorante La Grotta in Montepulciano, the service is wonderful, the atmosphere is beautiful and cozy, the dishes are tasty and excellent. Beautiful location. I recommend.

Io e mia moglie siamo stati alla Grotta di Montepulciano, a seguito di una esperienza positiva in un contesto lavorativo di qualche anno fa. Abbiamo scoperto che la gestione è cambiata da poco, ma la qualità è rimasta altissima. Inoltre il proprietario ha dimostrato competenza nel guidarci alla scelta dei vini (e mia moglie è sommelier), gestendo molto bene un potenziale problema con il vino scelto che poi è risultato mancante. Straordinarie le tagliatelle di seppia con panzanella e gli gnocchi piastrati,impepata di cozze e menta. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati e torneremo. Continuate così.

Lunch here was a true amazing culinary experience. Every dish we tasted was true bliss. Location is great, easy parking options, scenic views, friendly attentive staff. A restaurant you just cannot miss when in Tuscany.

Our last night in Montepulciano and we are so glad we kept the reservations for La Grotta. We know have three fantastic/outstanding restaurant options in Montepulciano. L'Alto, Porta de Bacco and now La Grotta. The atmosphere is perfect and the service was impeccible. The bread basket contains three choices of great breads along with EVOO. The main server recommended for us to share the Cuttlefish tagliatelle with panzanella. We would have never ordered that dish and it was so darn good. WOW. My main was a suckling pig belly wPeaches chutney and sesame and again we had a WOW fantastic dish. My partners dish was the oil poached salted cod fish wPuttanesca sauce and stracciatella cheese and it was a solid dish for her. We also ordered a side of potatoes and they came out in a metal pan looking like a Spanish Patatas Bravas but without the sauces. It did not need sauces because those potatoes were awesome. We finished off with a shared creme brulee dessert which was awesome. The wine recommendation by the head server was also spot on - wow. Overall a fantastic experience and we will return to La Grotta on our next Tuscany visit.

Traveled Italy for 2 weeks and this was above and beyond the best food we had. Everything was to die for. We went with a large group so had a prefixed menu and everything on it was exceptional. Must get the tiramisu as finale.
