It was a pleasant discovery! We had a wonderful time. The young and knowledgeable staff. We ate à la carte on the terrace at sunset with a stunning view. The restaurant's interior is enchanting, with an open kitchen. There's a wide selection of local wines! Kudos to the chef (read his CV!) for a hearty welcome. The homemade bread, served warm with a frothy salted butter, was a real treat, and we simply adored it! Like the pâté dessert, a truly delicious surprise! It added value to the selection of dishes that didn't disappoint! We'll be back without a doubt. Well done! 💪🏻

I've been wanting to dine at this restaurant for a long time, and my expectations were completely met. It's a magical place, with attention to every detail. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and smiling. The dishes are excellent. Their homemade bread is delicious. The pesto-filled gnocchi are fabulous. I've personally been there with friends and family. But I think a nice romantic dinner would be more appropriate.

I have been to La Gallina twice, 8 years apart, and each experience has been amazing. The food, the service and the incredible location all add to some of the best meals I’ve had in Italy here at La Gallina.

La Gallina isn’t just a restaurant — for me, it’s a place of the heart. The first time I went was years ago, for a special Thanksgiving, and ever since, we’ve returned for every important moment. Each visit becomes a cherished memory. The cuisine is impeccable, the service kind and attentive, and the Gavi hills all around add a poetic touch. My favorite dish? The tagliolini with black truffle — or as I like to say, the black truffle with tagliolini, because it truly steals the show. Intense, aromatic, and in perfect balance. I was so happy to see that the New York Times recently named Villa Sparina’s Gavi DOCG among the top 20 summer wines under $20. A well-deserved international recognition. This place is an Italian gem — and the world deserves to know it.”

From the impeccable quality of the produce to the creativity behind each flavor combination, every dish was a masterpiece. The attention to detail was absolutely exquisite, making every course feel both refined and memorable. Abbiamo trascorso una bellissima serata io e mio marito con una carissima coppia di amici...locale romantico elegante e molto cordiale e poi ottima cena con impronta piemontese con un tocco di innovazione ....buonissimo tutto dall'antipasto al dolce ed i vini eccellenti..tutti gentilissimi e competenti bravissimi...Franco e Grazia

abbiamo scoperto questo ristorante grazie a un regalo dei nostri nipoti. È situato in collina tra i vigneti nella pace assoluta. Il ristorante è ricavato da un fienile del 700. La cucina è a vista (bellissima) dove la brigata è guidata dallo chef Cacciopoli. Il personale di sala è sempre stato presente ma non invadente. I piatti dall antipasto al dolce ottimi. La battuta di fassona I ravioli il ganassino in umido e il tonnato veramente Speciali. Ci siamo promessi di ritornare nel periodo dei funghi. Prezzi in linea. Bravi!

We were here recently. The food was average, nothing exceptional, but still good. The location was beautiful. We ate on the terrace while enjoying a beautiful sunset, surrounded by manicured vineyards and beautiful hills. The only flaw, in my opinion, is the service. They seated us, asked us what type of water we'd like, and brought us the menus. So far, everything was good. We decided to opt for the à la carte menu with wine pairings. They brought us a welcome drink from the chef (all very good) and poured us a glass of white wine, without specifying that that glass also counted towards the appetizer. So, I finished it first, and so I had to eat almost the entire appetizer without the wine, but here you can turn a blind eye. But the most absurd thing was how our waiter (a bit older) kept constantly coming over to see if we were finished (not even considering a 30 euro sushi meal), as if to rush us. So much so that at the start of the dinner, the chef's welcome sign had to be taken away while we were still eating (this really bothered me). The bill was a bit steep, but that's to be expected. P.S. The pre-dessert was fabulous; I'd definitely recommend it with dessert.

La Gallina – A Culinary Gem Nestled in the Hills of Gavi. I had tried — and failed — to get a table at La Gallina on several previous visits to the area, and now I understand why. If you’re planning to go, be sure to book well in advance. Located within the stunning Villa Sparina boutique hotel, and surrounded by the rolling green hills and vineyards of Gavi, La Gallina is a true hidden gem that lives up to every bit of its reputation. From the elegant decor and serene setting to the exceptionally attentive service, this was a top-tier fine dining experience from the very first bite. We were lucky enough to dine here two nights in a row, giving us the chance to sample a wider variety of dishes. And honestly? Every plate was a highlight. Let’s start with the bread — because yes, it’s that memorable. Upon being seated, we were greeted with a generous selection of house-made breads, still-warm focaccia, crispy crostini, and delicate flavored butters, served alongside a creamy fresh cheese and a mini pot of savory meat ragù. It was indulgent enough to be a course of its own — and that was just the beginning. We followed the staff’s excellent recommendation and opted for the local white wine, produced by Villa Sparina itself — fresh, balanced, and the perfect complement to the menu. On our first evening, my friend and I both ordered the scallops to start, followed by the seafood pasta. The scallops were absolutely exquisite — light, summery, and served with a well-balanced sauce that made every bite a joy. I could’ve happily ordered a second portion. The pasta, rich with fish and shrimp and steeped in a deeply flavorful seafood stock, was equally outstanding. I won’t describe every single dish we tried (though I easily could), but trust me — every course was crafted with finesse and full of flavor. Just take a look at the photos and let them speak for themselves. A heartfelt thank you to the warm, professional staff who made our experience not only seamless but truly special. Can’t wait to return. If you’re ever in the Gavi region, put La Gallina at the top of your culinary bucket list.

08/09/2025: A wonderful, authentic Italian restaurant that seems to be frequented only by regulars. Great dishes, delicious house wine, very friendly and attentive service, and reasonable prices. All the German restaurateurs currently complaining should really do an internship.

01/08/2025: Have been eating at some great restaurants in Italy, and this has been the best. Food is incredible. Simple, yet super creative (tough combination!). Location could be a little challenging, but the food is absolutely worth it.
