Perfect express fish soup! Don't complain about the 40-minute wait... or make a reservation! Thanks to the staff who start working at 7:00 AM to prepare the homemade bread you can enjoy at dinner ❤️

What can I say? The chef, with whom we personally reserved a table yesterday, has learned his craft. The "fish soup" is top-notch. The tomato sauce "soup" has a truly perfect balance between the acidity of the tomatoes and the sugar, which brings them to life. Simply brilliant. Mama Sita, in a nutshell. It couldn't be better. It was just as delicious from bite to bite as you couldn't achieve it yourself. The recommended wine complemented the taste experience positively. We had the soup for one person and shared it because we wanted a second dish. We had the homemade ravioli. That was the crowning glory. The homemade sauce, too, was a gourmet's dream. A Michelin-starred restaurant could add this chef to its menu once a month. Provided the best fresh produce is used. He buys fresh produce every morning, as he told me. So make a reservation and enjoy—it's worth every cent. And to top it all off, there was a lemon sorbet. For the lady at the table, it's normal, and for me, it's vodka and a cafe doppio. Unfortunately, it's not in the picture.

It's all thanks to the staff, who deserve the 5 stars. They're talented, kind, patient, and knowledgeable. The food? Really good, and the portions are just right. What can I say? It's definitely worth a visit! I recommend the wood-fired oven desserts (but don't tell anyone 😉)

Sensational! This fish soup is so incredibly good and delicious! Even though it's not really a soup—but that's not a criticism, quite the opposite! So much fish, mussels, and other seafood in an incredibly delicious sauce! The wine recommended by the chef was a perfect match. We passed the preparation time announced by the friendly waitress with bruschetta—that was also great. We'll go back tomorrow—then I'll skip the bruschetta and eat the soup alone—today we shared it.

A small, indoor restaurant (hence the name Sottoscala) in Porto Azzurro, family-run. Service is prompt and the staff are attentive. We ordered a generous fish soup for two, excellent quality and fresh catch. I hadn't had a soup like this in a while. Highly recommended.

The location was exquisite, as were all the dishes we ordered. The cuisine and service were top-notch and very organized, with high-quality express orders. Excellent wine selection. Highly recommended and very typical. Congratulations, guys, see you soon!

On our first evening on Elba Island, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were so impressed by the quality of the dishes that we decided to return for the fish soup... Delicious! Compliments to the chef and the waiters, who were truly helpful.

Very well themed place, it feels like being below decks of a medieval ship, excellent welcome and helpful staff, very good food, especially appreciated the oil used which gave a boost to the flavors, recommended.

My partner and I went to dinner at this restaurant this evening and had the fish soup. What can I say... The dish was DELICIOUS. Absolutely worth a try.

Ristorante situato a un livello inferiore rispetto al piano stradale: occorrerebbe renderlo più visibile! A conduzione familiare: marito e moglie cordiali, affabili e attenti. Portate buone ed abbondanti. La zuppetta di moscardini è veramente gustosa. Ci siamo trovati molto bene. Lo consigliamo!
