I really liked the rooms. The food tasted good and it was generally a nice experience. We were advised on the choice of drinks by the sommelier's assistant. We liked the wine selection. He was very professional and gave us very good advice. Thank you very much! I understand that we ate in a Michelin restaurant here, but I think EUR 25 for three pieces of cheese is a bit excessive.

Highly recommended. One of my best meal in Italy. Very relaxing ambience, delicious food, and attentive service. Enjoyed the experience here. Saw other comments think the food is substandard but I think the restaurant made a good effort to customize for the guests and the food was actually better than other Michelin starred restaurant I tried in Milan.

The experience was superb, and the food was excellent. We visited last night and chose the 7-course menu without the wine option, as we don't drink alcohol. The location is amazing, with an elegant and elevated atmosphere. The staff is highly professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the chef's creations, particularly the "minestra di pasta, pesci di scoglio e pesto rosso," a Neapolitan specialty recommended to us. The "gambero viola, mandorla e aglio orsino" and the seabass were also exceptional. With the house aperitifs and the sour dessert to cleanse the palate, the meal was more than satisfying. I would recommend coming with an empty stomach, as we ended up enjoying around 9-10 courses, even though only 7 were included in the menu. Thank you once again for this amazing experience. We will gladly return.

We had quite a disappointing experience at the restaurant. We had 9 course surprise menu with wine pairing for 650 euro for two person. Most of the dishes were simply not tasty. One of the course was ruined by putting too much vinegar, so it was very acidic. One of the bites (I think it was asparagus) was not edible because it was too tough so it wasn't possible to chew it. There were a few dishes that we liked (like fish pasta or chicken fillet), but those were too basic for a Michelin restaurant – something you would find in a regular restaurant. The wine selection was okay. We really liked two wines from the menu, the rest was just fine. The service was too cold. Formally, the waiters did everything they are expected to do. But it felt like they just followed the script and didn't really care about us.

On a recent trip to Bologna, I got to experience a lovely and whimsical dinner at Ristorante I Portici. I had heard about this place from a website when I was looking for good places to eat in the city. A Michelin-starred restaurant in Bologna, a city known for its food, piqued my interest. I booked a table through their website, which lists the options for different dining experiences they offer. I had the “L'ora precisa” tasting menu (photo below), which costs €110 before any wine pairings. It was located in the Eden Theatre, which is connected to Hotel I Portici. On the morning of the day the dinner was scheduled, I received a phone call confirming my attendance and inquiring about any allergies. If there is one word that best describes the dining experience here, it would be “fun”. The food is presented in a creative way, and you get the feeling that the chefs put a lot of care and attention to detail into their work. Throughout the dinner, I had a sort of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” experience, where I was on the edge of my seat waiting in anticipation to see what the next creative concoction would look and taste like. The service at the restaurant is impeccable, perhaps some of the best I have experienced. They were very attentive and professional. I do not think an empty dish or unfilled glass sat on my table for more than a minute. I was not in the mood for an alcoholic drink, so they provided some other non-alcoholic options. I settled on an apple juice with mint, which turned out to be delicious (photo below). In addition, the staff all speak English well. Now, the most divisive part about the restaurant (based on other reviews) seems to be the cost. Personally, I thought that the price was appropriate. With my small amount of experience at Michelin-starred restaurants, I found myself unsure if each dish placed in front of me was one of the main dishes or the palate cleansers. In the end, however, I was full, with my appetite satisfied. After all, people go to a restaurant to eat. This is something Ristorante I Portici does well. There is a good balance of food and “show”. Other high-end and Michelin-starred restaurants fall into the trap of presentation over substance, leaving diners hungry after a visually appealing set of courses. The price can get expensive, though. From where I sat in the restaurant, I observed a family of four who appeared to be tourists. They appeared to have the same five-course dinner that I had, with an additional wine pairing for each of them. I cannot imagine that their bill was anything less than €500, maybe even pushing €600. That being said, the restaurant can be quite expensive for families, and even for couples. The experience is enjoyable with great food, so it is ultimately up to one’s own judgement to decide whether or not they wish to dine there. If I could, I would definitely dine here again!

Fabulous dinner. Well deserved star. Everything was impeccable from the welcome to the menu, from the very kind room service guys to the mise en place. Chef Annunziata confirms that he is truly up to the task. We ate delicacies that we will remember for a long time. Note of merit also to the pastry shop. An experience to absolutely repeat! The dishes were plentiful, exquisite and well balanced. A unique 360° experience in Emilian cuisine and beyond. Passed with flying colors! One of the best dinners of my life.

01/08/2024: I went this morning because I was looking for a gluten-free and lactose-free place near the main hospital, the biscuits are delicious! and even desserts from the fridge, it's a shame there aren't any tables to stop and enjoy these delicacies
