We went there yesterday night, a Monday in January. The food was fantastic. Very friendly owner, highly professional waiter, small, intelligent menu. I ate a vegetarian appetizer with artichokes and vegetarian ravioli with ricotta and sage, best ever! My friends liked their non-veg dishes and praised the red wine. I have a house in Volterra. There are many good restaurants in Volterra but Del Duca is by far the best.

Average restaurant and, in my opinion, not worthy of being included in the list of restaurants recommended by the Michelin guide. I'm not saying that the food is poor, but nothing more than what can be found in most Tuscan trattorias at much more modest prices. Value for money from 2. Wines with mark-ups, in my opinion, exaggerated; in my personal opinion absolutely not acceptable for a restaurant that would like to offer high-quality cuisine and not be considered a simple restaurant for tourists. Sin. I won't go back.

In the elegant context a few steps from Piazza dei Priori, the Enoteca del Duca proposed a New Year's Eve dinner with a refined menu and a refined atmosphere. The service, although put to the test by the liveliness of the evening, proved to be up to par, managing the pace of the courses with professionalism. The menu opened with a welcome toast accompanied by Franciacorta, followed by an entrée of cream puffs filled with Portuguese-style cod liver, with an intense and interesting flavour. The starters included amberjack carpaccio with lime and pomegranate on a bed of salad, fresh and well balanced, and a stuffed courgette with creamy prawn velouté and crunchy prawn, appreciated for the play on textures but whose portion was questionable. Among the first courses, the pappardelline with limoncello with shellfish sauce and scallops au gratin impressed with their balance and originality, while the ravioli filled with cod creamed with whitebait cream were less convincing, with a combination that appeared a little monotonous. The second course, octopus with mandarin sauce and potato soufflé with parsley, offered an interesting variation of flavors, while the dessert, a millefeuille with Chantilly cream, sweet ricotta and caramel, accompanied by grapes, dried fruit, panettone and sparkling wine, was really sparse. If on the one hand the flavors provided pleasant moments, on the other the portions, rather small for a tasting menu, left a sense of incompleteness that makes the price of €130 difficult to justify. Applause goes to the attentive and friendly dining room staff, who contributed to making the evening pleasant despite a few small flaws. Ultimately, Enoteca del Duca offered a good level gastronomic experience, albeit with room for improvement to find the right balance between price, portions and overall quality.

Situato in un bel edificio nel centro storico di Volterra, bel ristorante ben organizzato. A completare un bellissimo giardino dove abbiamo pranzato in un tavolo davvero romantico. Camerieri troppo giovani ma gestiti da caporali molto capaci. Cibo ben impiattato e ben cucinato. Prezzi nella media
