07/04/2026: This place struck me first and foremost for the hospitality of the people who run it, a quality that's far from a given these days, especially in a tourist-heavy city like Siena. The hotel itself is delightful: an interesting place that combines the charm of an old building in the heart of the city (just behind Palazzo Pubblico) with original, more modern details. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, with a view of the side entrance to Piazza del Mercato. The restaurant was the best dining experience I've ever had in Siena (despite having lived there for two years, about 25 years ago). The menu is simple, but the dishes (we tried pici al ragù and ribollita) are excellent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is perfect, almost like something from another era. I felt completely at ease and would return every time I'm in Siena. Thank you!
